Insert a compressor on your

track which you want to

compress.
Get a compressor up (for

example here, on a string pad)

Click the sidechain button in

the compressor
The next step is to take a send

from the track you are

compressing for (e.g. kick
track, not the one you are

compressing)
Click the e button on the kick
track, then select an empty

Route it to the tracks
compressor, often called Side-

chains etc.
Remember to switch the send
on, otherwise it wont work.
