U g C PUj.
1) PRELIMINARY :
This project is included in the list of works proposed for aproval by the
Comissioner, sugar development office bangalore grants to the tune of Rs.12.00
HISTORY, TERRAIN & CLIMATE :
2) Lakhs.
The proposed road starts from Hadya village govt. school. The proposed
road connects to Dammanahalli, Dammanahalli koppalu & Sakkare villages. The
existing road is in plain terrain. The climate in this surrounding area is in moderate
condition.
3) CONNECTIVITY OF VILLAGES :
This road connects 3 villages such as Dammanahalli, Dammanahalli
koppalu, & Sakkare villages.
Sl. No.

Name of villages Population

Dammanahalli

Dammanahalli koppalu

Sakkare

4) NECESSITY AND BENEFITS :

The existing road surface is partially wornout granualr surface and
partially warnout BT srface, worst in condition with ruts & pits, it is in non motorable
condition. Hence it is necessary to improve the road & inturn helps to the villages &
formers for conveying the grown commodities to the nearest market yard and also for
movements from their place to other palce.
5) ROAD FEATURES :
The actual length of the road is 3.10 km, out of this length the proposed
length in this estimate is only 365.00 mtrs for improvements. Since the existing road
is in very worst in condition, hence it is very essential to improve the road according to
the IRC standards.
6) DRAINAGE FACILITY :
Provision for earthen drainages are made in the estimate to avoid
blockage inside drains on rainy seasons, necessary CD works are also proposed.
7) LAND ACQUISITION :
Since the existing road is considering for improvements, there is no
question of land acquisition arises.
8) DESIGN SPECIFICATION :
Using the CBR values the pavement design is calculated and formation
of the road is as per IRC:SP-72. According to the pavement design profile corrections,
GSB 7.50 cms for whole width, Grade-II 7.5 cms thick, Grade-III 7.5 cms thick,
emulsion 20mm thick close graded premix carpet with seal coat 'B' type.
9) MATERIALS REQUIRED :

Grade II and grade III jelly for metalling, chips for asphalting, gravel for
consolidation of G-II, and sand for seal coat, gravel for shoulder filling are required for
the work. The bitumen S-65 grade will be used for asphalting works. The locally
available skilled labours and necessary equipment will be engaged by the agency. The
quarry for the granite material from Chinakuruli quarry and for sand river & for gravel
local quarry is considered.
10) SUB-BASE TREATMENT :
Based on the CBR value of the road and the existing traffic intensity the
pavement thickness has been designed as per SP-72 necessary provision for granualr
sub base is also made in this estimate.
11) BASE COURSE AND SURFACE :
It is proposed to provide 2 layer metalling for base course G-II & G-III
each 75mm thick and 20mm thick close graded premix carpet with seal coat 'B' type.
12) CULVERT AND DRAINAGE :
Totally 2 culverts are proposed in this estimate considering the
geographical requirements and necessity and details mentioned below.

13) ALIGNMENT :
The road is in existing one and plan of the road is furnished in the
estimate.
14) GEOMETRIC STANDARDS AND DESIGN :
Necessary provisions are made for the minimum required road width
5.50m, carriage width 3.75 mtr and shoulders. A design speed of 50km is considered
for negotiating the horizontal curves and the road runs in plain terrain. Necessary
provisions for horizontal curves, vertical gradient, cross slopes etc., are made in the
DPR.
15) TOPOGRAPHICAL SURVEY :
Required survey for L-Section and cross section is carried out and
furnished in the DPR with necessary profile correction.
16) SOIL AND MATERIAL SURVEY :
CBR tests are conducted to know CBR values and local quarries are
identified the quarry charts and availability of local matreials are considered in the
TRAFFIC SURVEY :
17) DPR.
A sample traffic survey of the vehicles in this road is carried out and the
result is furnished in the estimate and is considered for the design.
18) HYDROLOGICAL WORKS :
The data required for the design of cross drainage works is arrived at
and is furnished in the design calculation for CD works taking into consideration of
topo sheet.
PROTECTIVE
WORKS :
19) relavent
There is no requirement of any protective works to this road.
20) SPECIFICATIONS :
Required specification and guidelines according to SP:72 PRE SR Mysore
circle 2014-15 are adopted in the DPR.
21) ANALYSIS OF RATES :
PRED AND PMGSY SR of 2014-15 are used for the preperation of this
estimate and rates are finished rates inclusive of all lead and lifts.
22) CONSTRUCTION OF PROGRAMME :
The necessary PERT chart showing the activities and time frame is
furnished.

23) ESTIMATED COST :

The estimate for developing this road as briefed above it works out to
Rs.12.00 lakhs.

The work is approved in the program of work under "Suger Cess grant 201516.
