Written Assignment based on watching a Movie or a

Documentary
Expectations
Purpose: This assignment should demonstrate your visual comprehension
and critical writing skills.
Audience: The primary audience (reader) is the evaluator, that is, me. The
secondary audience is your peers. Always keep the audience in mind while
drafting your assignment.
Length: Write about 750 words (excluding references) on A4 sized sheets.
Format: Handwritten, not exceeding 5 sheets, neatly stapled with the cover
page. Pages torn from registers or ruled sheets will not be evaluated.
Structure:
1. Give a suitable title
2. Introduction: About 100 words. This is an introduction to your
assignment and not to the movie/documentary. Mention the purpose
of your writing and a brief outline of your argument.
3. Body
a. Two paragraphs defining and explaining some themes identified
in the movie/documentary. Some themes are indicated in the list
attached. You can add to these.
b. One paragraph by each member of the group relating one theme
with his/her personal experience. It is important that all the
paragraphs be cogently connected.
4. Conclusion: About 100 words summing up the entire assignment
5. References: Quoted on one page with details of the material and the
source of the material (Title, Author, pages, website link if drawn from
internet etc)
Plagiarism
Plagiarism is an offence. Copying material from sources straight and
not quoting them in your references would be unacceptable. Any
content that is copied from a book/website/blog etc will be given
zero marks.
