Grammar

Imagine the following situation:

The editor of the online magazine you work for sent you this note:

Hi! Would you be interested in writing a book review? We want to

offer our readers interesting holiday reads this month and we would
like you to write an article for our next issue.

Thanks,

Sarah

Task:

Write a review of a book you have read and would like to recommend as a holiday
read. You can use the model on p. 324 (Attachment : Emphasis - Cleft Sentences)
to help you. You will have to make language more emphatic by including 2 cleft
sentences, 2 examples of inversion and 1 example of fronting. Please, type
these sentences in a different colour. Remember you can revisit the steps for
process writing in order to write this review (brainstorming/ planning- outlining/
drafting/ reviewing and editing/ writing the final draft). You can also include a picture
with the cover of the book you recommend and / or any image you would like to
include in your article.
Writing

Write a self-contained piece (400-500 words) to define and re-define the

main topic in your future literary review after Practical Assignment II and
Peer Review and Self- Check instances. This will be your final draft of
such production. You must include a clear explanation of the main points
to be included by writing a thesis statement in the corresponding
introductory paragraph, three supporting paragraphs in which you
develop sub-categories of the main topic, and provide source-
documentation. Finally, you must add a concluding paragraph with
expectations about your research and a list of references following APA
Style. All feedback in Practical Assignment II (outline + three-paragraph
piece) and Peer Review and Self-Check instances must be taken into
account to improve the first version of your essay.
