Enrichment Attendance
Many of you have asked questions about I/E attendance. I would encourage you all to make a spreadsheet or some type of method that is easy
for you to take attendance. Whenever we have I/E you are seeing a class
you saw earlier in the day most times. If a student is absent but they were
there previously just send their name to the office to see if they signed out.
If they didnt sign out you can turn them in for skipping. This can also be
done at the end of the day. I appreciate all the efforts to make I/E time
successful at McMichael High School.

2. Multiple tests should not occur on the same day. Each school will develop
a plan to ensure that students have optimal conditions for success on assess
ments in core subject areas. The goal of this is to eliminate the traditional
Friday Test Day. Multiple forms of assessment are encouraged.
3. All grading practices should reflect a focus on MASTERY of content.
RCS High School Grading Practices
1. Grades reflect actual learning.
a. Zeros are not permanent until the end of the grading period.
2. Common grading practices are expected across courses (ex. All English 2
teachers use common grading practices).
3. All students will have opportunities to improve their grade, including options
for remediation/retesting and/or enrichment as needed.
4. Grades will be updated in Canvas weekly.
a. Interim Progress Reports go home with all students at mid term- Personal contact will be made with the parent/guardian of a student that is currently
receiving a D/F or has more than three (3) missing assignments.
5. Schools will develop and submit a plan to Mr. Slate to ensure multiple tests
are not given on the same day.
