NDT Inspection Technician, Level II

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Perform traditional straight beam, shear wave UT and phased array ultrasonic testing
(PAUT) using manual and semi-automated techniques to the requirements of industry
standards (ASTM E164, ASME B 31.1/3 or similar).
Accepting or rejecting based upon criteria of industry welding standards (AWS D1.1 or
similar).
Performing Ultrasonic, Visual, Magnetic Particle and Visible/Florescent Penetrant
inspections based on inspection plans developed by qualified Level III/CWI personnel.
Communicating detailed inspection results to engineering and welding teams verbally
and via electronically generated reports.
Interpret and review drawings as pertaining to NDT inspection requirements.
Maintaining inspection equipment, including inventory of consumables.
Assisting engineering team in creating efficient inspection processes, standard and
automated.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must have held a level II UT certification within the past 6 months with documented
classroom training and be able to certify to SNT-TC-1A Level 2 UT; PAUT certification
(API QUPA) with OmniScan and related software experience preferred.
Knowledge of calibration inspection standards and related acceptance criteria.
NDT work requires physical exertion. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, walk, stand, sit, bend,
climb, stretch, reach, squat, twist, work at height, in hot/cold environments and confined
spaces as required for setting up and performing inspections.
Ability to communicate effectively, work well with a team and take direction from
engineers or leadership.
Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint and
Excel.
Understanding of safety requirements specific to inspection process including use of
aerial work platform (manlift), confined space and a commitment to using safe practices
in day-to-day work environments. OSHA 10 or TWIC preferred.
Minimum of 2 years experience in NDT.
High School diploma/GED.
Valid drivers license
Additional inspection experience including Visual, Magnetic Particle, Penetrant,
Radiographic, Electromagnetic Testing/Eddy Current, Leak testing, Acoustic Emissions.
Level 2 certification (CP-189, SNT-TC-1A, NAS 410, API, CGSB) in at least 3 methods
preferred, but not required.
Pipeline or Refinery inspection experience desirable.
