RAM NAVAMI

Ram Navami is the celebration of the birth of Lord

Rama to King Dasharatha and Queen Kausalya of
Ayodhya. Bhgavaan Ram is the 7th incarnation
Bhagvaan of Vishnu.
The Rama Navami falls in the Shukla Paksha on the
Navami, the ninth day of the month of Chaitra in
the Hindu calendar. Thus it is also known as Chaitra
Masa Suklapaksha Navami, and marks the end of
the nine-day Chaitra-Navratri celebrations.
Birth of Bhagwaan Ram
On completion of the Yagya six seasons have passed
by and then in the twelfth month, on the ninth day
of Chaitra month [MarchApril], when the presiding
deity of ruling star of the day is Aditi, where the ruling star of day is Punarvasu (Nakshatra), the asterism is in the ascendant, and when five of the nine
planets viz., Sun, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Venus are
at their highest position, when Jupiter with Moon
is ascendant in Cancer, and when day is advancing,
then Queen Kausalya gave birth to a son with all the
divine attributes like lotus-red eyes, lengthy arms,
roseate lips, voice like drumbeat, and who took birth

to delight the Ikshwaku dynasty, who is adored by

all the worlds, and who is the greatly blessed epitome of Vishnu, namely Rama.
Book I: Bala Kanda, Ramayana by Valmiki, Chapter (Sarga) 18, verses 8, 9, 10
The Ramayana is the divine story of the time when
Bhagwan Vishnu manifested on Earth in the form of
Bhagwan Rama.
The Ramayana gives us the message of Bhagwan Rama's life and teachings.
The word "Rama" literally means one who is divinely blissful and who gives joy to others, and one in
whom the sages rejoice.
It is said that the repetition of his name (Rama
Nama) is the surest, fastest and easiest way to attain
purity, peace, wisdom, understanding, joy, prosperity and ultimately liberation. Bhagwan Rama Himself said, "Repetition of My name once is equal to the
repetition of one thousand names of God or to the
repetition of a mantra one thousand times."

You should pray to God to grant you that which He possesses and that you lack? Peace
and bliss. Do not ask God for the fulfillment of only your desires of worldly things that are
fleeting and momentary. Only God is immutable, pure, eternal and immortal. So, spend your
time in singing the glory of God. By sincere prayer, you can discover your latent divinity.
