Comments on this set of names This is the (unfortunately!

) usual mixed bag of a set of names which has been put together by a Sahaja Yogi, They are fairly Hindi-fied (missing as, some Hindi words) but also a bit Maharashtrian (Raji pronounced Radh etc.). About half of the names can be found in the Shri Lalit Sahasra-nma. The names can be quite long and a couple seem divisible into two names (50, 54, 64) The translations are rather fanciful. Were they written first and the Sanskrit invented to fit? This contains several words which are not Sanskrit, apart from the obvious Arabic ones. and many inaccuracies, maybe because it was transcribed from a tape?? Some of these are how it might sound to a westerner. Changes made to Sanskrit (apart from the reinstatement of missing as and hs) (5) Brahmnda-egg of Brahma, not Brahmnanda-joy of Brahma. (7) The Shri Lalita has hat-chakropari samsthit-seated above the six chakrasupadhi or updhi dont mean above but attribute or instead of. The original translation had seven! (9) Ugapini no such word in Sanskrit or Hindi. It could be ut-thpin- one who raises
up or brings forth.? (16) Surabhi- fragrant

(23) Sahasra doesnt have a t- although is sounds like it does when Shri Mataji says it. (24) This one really makes you think!! Prathula- no such word in S or H. Prathu=wide Lavana-salty-vri-water means ocean. Lavana can mean sea on its own so vs-residing is possible, although it would really be vsa. The original translation would be possible if one found the name in Devanagari where all the words are joined in a long line (and you thought prathula meant flowery, also sa and ra look similar) , or heard it on a tape. (25) Ashtva Sattva? Ahva? Ahtava- reached, obtained, become master of. But most likely stv-abiding in, ever-present. Satya and stv would coalesce into satystv. (26) Danpatra. ptra is vessel in Hindi and dhanaptra=wealthy person (vessel of wealth). (27) Dayani- should be Dyin-giver.presumably. (28) Prarahini -possibly Pra-rohin-grown, ascended, causing to grow. (29) Trin looks like it should be dhrin- wearing (30 + 32) Sarvga presumably svarga-heaven. (32) Radhini probably Rji-Queen- in Marathi this is pronounced Rdh, as in the next one. (33) Samaradhni presumably Sam-rj-Empress judging by the translation rules. (36) Svarnim= svarnin-golden- Jhadit= jadita?? In Marathi this means jewel encrusted which follows the translation. In Sanskrit it means rendered lifeless!! (37) Shri Mataji suggested Vishva Nirmala Dharma Sthapin- the One who establishes at the Ganesha Puja, Brighton, 1985. (43) Nr-light, jahn-world in Hindi (from Arabic?) (45) Paiga-golden (46) Suvana= suvarna-gold presumably. (49) Chitra-kta- where Shri Rama first settled during His exile. Suhsin-cheerful,

smiling ? -maybe Suvsin-comfortably settled?

(50/51) Kalki should coalesce with eka and ahva to form Kalky-eka.. and kalkyahva but probably better to leave it as is. (51) Ahva- horse. (55)- Sahasra- thousand presumably, not Sahasrara. (56)-Shtala and agni would coalesce into shtalgni (62) Pvin- purifying, wind would seem to follow the trans. pjini- is Hindi for servant (63) Gagotri ? ut-tr- coming out, descending. (72) Mit-established. There follows a corrected version with the Sanskrit revised so that at least it is Sanskrit, apart from the odd Hindi word (were getting quite used to that in Sahaj!) and the Arabic offerings. The name Rja-rjehwar is not included. Is there any special significance to the number 79? Not that I know of. Generally prime numbers do not seem to have the symmetry that makes for auspiciousness (108 is 22 x 33 ). I still have not managed to listen to the tape of the Puja, to hear the names being said- it might explain a lot!
