I.

Introduction: Character Profile

In this section, introduce and describe your chosen character. You may first write up a short
description of the characters profile followed by a concise background of your chosen
character. The background needs NOT to be long or comprehensive. However, it must
include pertinent information about the character that will help you understand him/her/it.
You may include a description of the following: family background, social relationships,
upbringing, characteristic behaviors, thoughts, abilities, and other idiosyncratic qualities of
the character. You may also include significant events in the characters life. Please cite
references when necessary.

Statement of the Problem: What do you want to understand about your chosen
character?
While you may have much information about your characters qualities, background, and
experiences, it will help to be able to narrow down or focus on which aspect about that
character you would like to understand. In this section, explicitly state what you want to
understand about your character in a question (or two).

III.

Search for a Theoretical Framework: How might Psychology understand your chosen
character?
In this section, refer to your textbook (Ciccarelli or Santrock), and look up academic journal
articles that may help you answer the question/s you listed in the second section. For every
reference material (e.g. journal articles, previous studies, textbook references) you find,
write a paragraph-long summary about 1) what they tell us: the findings of previous studies,
description of theories, concepts, and/or constructs, and 2) how this information might help
you answer your question/s in the previous section (Statement of the Problem). Have at
least five (5) references. Remember to cite them using the APA format (look up: in-text
citations).

than textbook materials. If you didnt cite the reference in any section of this paper, then you shouldnt
have it in this list. Remember to use the APA format.
