requires a lot of hands on participation. If for some reason students are unable to attend class,
they should contact the instructors as soon as possible.
Dropping a class If you decide to drop this, or any other class at MSU-West Plains, you need
to take the required actions. You must go to the Registrars office and officially drop the class
before the official drop date of Dec 1. Failure to do this will result in an F for the course, which
will stay on your transcript. The process is not complete until the correct paper work is done at
the Registrars Office.

Weather Policy The general policy for weather is that classes will not be cancelled because of
inclement weather. However, in emergency situations, the radio and TV stations will be notified.
Students may obtain specific information about university cancellations by calling the MSU-WP
weather hotline at417-255-8075, checking the MSU-WP home page, or signing up for the
campus alert system to get calls and texts on their phone.
NOTE . The faculty will make every effort to allow make-up work for classes missed because
of severe weather conditions..
GRADING
A big part of this class is participation, so in-class participation cannot be made up, regardless of
the reason for missing it. There will be a lot of discussion, watching of tutor videos, role playing
etc.
Homework should be turned in on time. Work turned in after class on the due date is not
accepted at full credit; you will receive only 80% of full credit at most. See the course schedule
at the end of the syllabus for specific information.
Self-reflections should explain the lesson from the week and how tutors tried to use it in an
actual session with a student. Students should do some self-reflection: what happened? Why did
it happen? What would you do differently next time? These will be graded with an eye to how
well you are incorporating the learning theory with the rubber meets the road application.
