Linear (Girls)
The graph shows the difference of the height (in centimeters) of Filipino male
and female between the ages 0 to 15 years old. The data was gathered from San
Jose Academys medical clinic.
B ( x )=6.675 x +69.25
G ( x )=6.1265 x +69.676
B(x) represents the height and age of the boys while the G(x) otherwise
represents the height and age of the girls. The difference of the equation is the
equation that can be used to find the difference between the height of the boys and
the girls.
Evaluation of Values
3 values were chosen in the graph to evaluate with the function difference.
The results show that the difference of the height between the male and
female increases as the age gets older and males are usually taller than females. At
4 years, there is 1.768 cm difference between male and female height, at 10 years
there is already 5.059 cm and at 15 years there is 7.8015 cm height difference. The
gathered data were from random students and there are cases that girls were taller
than boys with the same age (the data may vary from person to person). The
reason behind this is that the boys enter puberty later than the girls but eventually
they will increase much height than of boys.
