Statement

from Brucie Moore, Chair of the University of Louisville Foundation

I am honored to serve as the new Chair of the University of Louisville Foundation. Today the
Foundation took a critical step by electing five board members, four of whom are new, to the University
of Louisville Foundation Board of Directors: Ronnie Abrams, Paul Carrico, Alice Houston, Diane Medley
and Dr. Bill Selvige. I want to thank the Foundation Nominating Committee for finding strong nominees
who are committed to the mission of the University of Louisville Foundation.

The Foundation is indebted to the dedicated service of Frank Minnifield, who has served since 2012, and
of Frank Weisberg, who has served since 2003. Although their terms have expired, we are grateful for
their continued support of the University of Louisville. Their leadership has helped this university
achieve in so many ways.

I would also like to thank Dr. James Ramsey for his service to the University and the Foundation. The
University is well on its way to accomplishing its statutory mandate to become a premier metropolitan
research university by 2020.

Additionally, I would to thank Dr. Bob Hughes for his service as chair of the Board and look forward to
working with him as a board member in the year to come.

My overriding mission is to assure confidence in the University of Louisville Foundation among all
stakeholdersdonors, faculty, students, staff, alumni, and the community. UofL is too great an asset for
our city and commonwealth to allow personal issues distract us from focusing on what is in the best
interest of this great institution.
