militancy
DU CorrespondentArif

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Saturday said national

unity was of paramount importance to weed out roots of militancy
and extremism from the country, including the educational
institutions.
Saying that those fanatic militants are not only enemies of Islam
and Muslims but also the enemies of humanity Nurul Islam Nahid
also said that those who are killing people in the name of religion
are heading towards hell.
He also said it could not be the lesson of Islam that anyone would
go to heaven through killing innocent people here.
He came with these remarks while speaking in an anti-militancy
discussion held at the auditorium of Teacher Student Center of
Dhaka University on Saturday morning.
Nurul Islam Nahid also suggested that teachers behave in a
friendly way with students, become more engaged in teaching,
and inspire students towards humanity and patriotism.
Presided over by DU VC AAMS Arefin Siddique the function was
also addressed among others by University Grants Commission
Chairman Professor Abdul Mannan, Education Secretary Sohrab
Hossain, DU Pro-VC (administration) Professor Akhtaruzzaman,
