SPANISH CONQUEST
Spanish Conquest over Latin America
In the 15th century Christopher Columbus, who was not from
Spain but moved to Spain after his wifes death. He initially
wanted to reach India or Asia but he reached Latin America and
stopped his journey . In Spain he found politically favourable
circumstances and good fortune led the Catholic monarchs,
Isabella of Castile and Ferdinand of Aragon, to approve the
venture. He started his journey by just three ships sailing across
sea and his journey took almost 36 days.
After the long time of Journey , they reached Latin America . One
of the major consequences of conquest was , it enabled Columbus
to obtain further royal patronage and thus lead three more
expeditions to the Caribbean (although Columbus continued to
believe that he had reached Asia).
He has travelled a lot between Spain and Latin America in order
to give enough money , gold and other precious stuffs to king
Ferdinand as per his sayings.
