13IfIspeakinthetongues[a]ofmenorofangels,butdonothavelove,I
amonlyaresoundinggongoraclangingcymbal.2IfIhavethegiftof
prophecyandcanfathomallmysteriesandallknowledge,andifIhavea
faiththatcanmovemountains,butdonothavelove,Iamnothing.3IfI
giveallIpossesstothepoorandgiveovermybodytohardshipthatImay
boast,[b]butdonothavelove,Igainnothing.
4Loveispatient,loveiskind.Itdoesnotenvy,itdoesnotboast,itisnot

proud.5Itdoesnotdishonorothers,itisnotselfseeking,itisnoteasily
angered,itkeepsnorecordofwrongs.6Lovedoesnotdelightinevilbut
rejoiceswiththetruth.7Italwaysprotects,alwaystrusts,alwayshopes,
alwaysperseveres.
8Loveneverfails.Butwherethereareprophecies,theywillceasewhere

therearetongues,theywillbestilledwherethereisknowledge,itwill
passaway.9Forweknowinpartandweprophesyinpart,10butwhen
completenesscomes,whatisinpartdisappears.11WhenIwasachild,I
talkedlikeachild,Ithoughtlikeachild,Ireasonedlikeachild.WhenI
becameaman,Iputthewaysofchildhoodbehindme.12Fornowwesee
onlyareflectionasinamirrorthenweshallseefacetoface.NowIknow
inpartthenIshallknowfully,evenasIamfullyknown.
13Andnowthesethreeremain:faith,hopeandlove.Butthegreatestof

theseislove.
