The Recruitment Officer

Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited
P.O. Box 143
Port Moresby, National Capital District
Dear Sir/Madam:
Your companys posting in the Post-Courier, dated July 29, 2004 of a sponsorship
program has indicated requirements in your selection criteria I believe I am able
to meet. I have enclosed my university transcripts and resume providing a
summary of my experience, skills and academic records for your review.
I am a third year student currently studying for a Bachelors degree in Mining
Engineering at the PNG University of Technology but am eager for an option to
deviate into the petrochemical industry. I am especially fascinated by petroleum
engineering.
Being very dedicated to my studies, I have prioritized and cut myself off from
many distracting social activities young people of my generation take part in. I
believe hard work pays off in the end, as evidenced by my grades in school.
However I have the potential to put in more commitment given that I have more
resources at my disposal; that can be best realized with aid the KPHLs
Sponsorship Program can offer.
Please excuse my absent offer of admission to the PNG University of Technology;
I never received it from the Office of Higher Education in time (but I assure you I
was present in the acceptance list released early 2002). Also, due to the
unfortunate circumstances that have befallen UoT, I couldnt obtain a better third
referee; this is what I currently have. I would therefore welcome the opportunity
to speak with you in person about my candidacy for the program in further detail
if required. Thank you for very much for your consideration.
Yours sincerely,

Kori Yokotsuki
Third Year Mining Engineering Student
