NOVEL :THREE MEN IN A BOAT

1.Give character sketch of George in about 100 words

George, like Harris and Jerome, too has his feelings. his work as he has to overstrain
himself. Like them he, too wants a break to regain to regain his energy .George is
both sensible and wise. he favours for managing a light boat. he is logical also in his
opinions . but he too has many common traits of character like those of Harris and
Jerome .for instance, he is not very good packer. he packs with Harris and
mismanages everything .he walks over butter and packs pies at the bottom .George
is not hardworking as compared to Jerome .he is clever in taking advantages of
others .this is seen in the towing incident. He buys a banjo, though he doesnt know
how to play it. later he tries to practice playing it . but he is restrained by the police.
This leaves him frustrated and depressed. George needs sympathy of the world but
it is not for him. He wishes to lead a peaceful life

2. Give character sketch of Harris in about 100 words

Harris. Like Jerome. Too says that he has fits of giddiness. This is due to his
overstraining. So he loves to go on a boating journey. Like Jerome and George,
Harris poses to do thing sincerely and with dedication. But it is not so as seen in
packing. He usually takes the charge of doing things but puts the burden on others.
He says that he knows the path of the Hampton court but he does not. He takes the
charge of the crowd in the maze but confuses all of them due to his lack of
seriousness. The lady with baby rightly calls him rightly an impostor. Harris loves
visiting tombs and graves. It is his great desire to visit Mrs.thomas tomb because he
is fond of reading inscriptions and epitaphs written on the tomb. he is light hearted
person and also is non serious even in the serious situations.however,he is fond of
sea rowing

3.Give character sketch of Montmorency in about 100 words

Montmorency is Jeromes pet dog.he has been characterized like a human
being.montmorency has a belief to poke his nose in everythings.he believes in
committing errors after errors so that people will curse him and he enjoys that.
During packing he treats lemons as rats and bounces upon them Harris blames
Jerome for spoiling him but he says that it is natural . Jerome says that it is in the
nature of all dogs and dogs are born with the original sin of messing up things.In
this way, Montmorency is like George, Harris and Jerome to add up to the humour
and fun.montmorencys treating the kettle as an enemy and his dancing at sniffing
it is really a great fun and laughter
