Students are responsible for doing all three assignments by test day. The three assignments
will make up 30 points on the weekly spelling test. Some of these assignments will be started
and completed in class and others will need to be completed outside of class. Students will be
informed of which assignments they must complete outside of class time. This week
Assignment #1 -2 should be done on loose-leaf paper with a proper heading.
Assignment #3 will be done on the same page as Assignment #1.

Assignment #1
Draw a picture of your favorite place to visit. Write a short story using at least
five of your spelling words. Your story should be a half a page in length
Underline or highlight the spelling words.
Assignment #2 How much is your word worth?
Be sure to write your word and show your work. See example below.
Example: soccer= 0.05 +0.08 +0.02+ 0.02+ 0.04+ 0.02= $0.23

Assignment 3 Editing your Story

In your story for Assignment 1, box any conjunctions. Decide if your sentence
needs a comma before the conjunction or does not need a comma. Simple and
compound sentences in your story should be properly punctuated.
