I have just completed my final year study (B.Eng, Mechanical Engineering) at XXX and will be graduating in July. Here are the relevant projects I have undertaken in university, which can testify my being analytical and competent enough to be considered for the position. My third year industrial design project - a year-long collaboration with XXX - was CFD analysis of multi-stream exhaust manifold using Ansys Fluent and modeling in SolidWorks. It involved the study of flow characteristics of multiple gas streams in a manifold and two phase interaction between air and water, as well as later modifications to the manifold design for better gas flow. More recently, in my final year project, I worked on a finite difference analysis of low Reynolds number flow through constrictions in tube. FORTRAN was used for the calculations. A major achievement of my project was successfully implementing a working pressure code that had not been available previously. Although I have no related prior working experience, I am confident that my experience in the aforementioned projects will help me learn the job fast and carry out duties satisfactorily at your company. Moreover, my passion for engineering and marine industry means I can be relied upon to be thorough, hardworking and permanent. The latter passion for marine industry traces back to my growing up in a shipyard, courtesy of a naval architect father. I would like to request for an interview so that you can learn more about how I may contribute to the company. The job means a lot to me as it is a chance to continue my interest at a more advanced and professional level. In turn, it would mean a dedicated engineer for you. Please find attached my resume for your reference. As for availability, I am able to start working immediately. Thank you and looking forward to hearing from you! Best regards, John (HP: XXXX XXXX)
