Academic Grade (100 pts)
Academic Grade consists of student practice logs, quizzes, and written assignments. Students will
be required to write a critical analysis paper for the midterm (Quarter 1) and final (Quarter 2).
Developing an opinion, voice, and evaluative sense of Dance Works is an important element in
the study of Theatre. Students will reflect upon their own practice through the viewing of others
practice.
Practice Logs: (100 pts)
All students are required to practice o
utside of class for 30 minutes per week. This is an average of less
than 5 minutes per day. Logs will be turned in every Friday for Practice from Friday-Thursday. Students
should practice technique, choreography, and complete Journal Packets outside of class.

App on Android and Apple, or by texting 81010 the code @DanceFCPMS

Late Work Policy:

One letter grade off for everyday late (10%).
***Example Due Monday, turned in Tuesday student received an 89% now it would be a 79%
because it is late.
After 5 days late student may only receive 50% of the available points for an assignment.
At this point the student may be assigned tutoring for a length of time TBD. If the student attends
tutoring the assignment will be accepted past the 5th day. If not the assignment is entered as a 0.
Homework Policy:
Homework is important as it reinforces concepts learned and promotes responsibility.
Weekly homework will include:
Studying vocabulary words (flash cards are suggested)
Practice Logs, Projects, and/or Scenes
Any work not completed in class
Absences:
If a student is absent, it is the students responsibility to ask for missed assignments on the day of return to
class. If a test is missed, the student will need to schedule a time to make up the test within two days of their
return.
Late Policy:
Students must be ready with all materials ready for class at the beginning of the period. If students are late
three times or more they will be written up with a behavior consequence (leveled consequences). Tardies to
class prevent the rest of the class from being able to run smoothly and on time. It is extremely important to
arrive promptly and prepared.
