Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) Application Procedure and Required Items

After arriving in Taiwan, you have to apply for Alien Resident Certificate (ARC)
within 14 days. Late application will result in penalty. In order to apply for ARC, you
need to complete the registration and pay the tuition first. Please to go to Hsinchu City
Immigration Office to apply for ARC. Usually, the ARC will be issued within 14
working days after submitting application documents. After receiving ARC, please
submit one copy to Ms. Avis Liu at the Division of International & Cross-strait
Services (Library 3F).
For New Applicant:
1. Valid passport and a copy
2. Valid Resident Visa and a copy
3. Tuition bill receipt
4. ID photo: one 2 inch photo which white background
5. Fee: NT1,000
6. ARC application form
Students who hold visitor visa is not able to apply for ARC. Please convert it in
Ministry of Foreign Affairs (http://www.boca.gov.tw/mp?mp=1).
For Extension Applicant:
1. Valid passport
2. Tuition bill receipt
3. A copy of ARC for both front and back sides
4. Your ARC (If you own one)
5. ID photo: one 2 inch photo which white background
6. Fee: NT1,000
7. ARC Application Form
Please pay attention to that the ID photo has to be white background, taken
within the last 6 months with an image from the top of the head to the chin at the
length of 3.2-2.6 cm.
