Lets pretend you decide to drive from the Craigmere section to the Fardale section of Mahwah.
1. You begin on Alcott Road at 7:00 P.M. Youre starving and drive one mile to Moes to grab a
quick bite to eat.
2. You arrive at Moes at 7:04. As as you pull into the Moes parking lot, your friend calls and
asks you to pick him up. You turn your car around and drive 2 miles to your friends house
on Tamoshanter Lane.
3. You arrive at 7:12. Your friend is in the mood for McDonalds so you drive to route 17,
make, two u-turns, and arrive at McDonalds at 7:20. This trip is 3 miles. Oh no! You
forgot your wallet!
4. You drive back to Alcott Road by way of Route 17 and arrive at your house at 7:25. This
trip is two miles. You get your wallet, and continue on your trip. You decide to go through
Ramsey because you want to make a quick stop at Krousers. Bad idea. The traffic
through Ramsey is awful!
5. You drive 2 miles to the Lake Street light and arrive there at 7:28. Then, you spend 20
minutes driving on Ramsey Main Street. Ramsey Main Street is of a mile long! You
make it through Ramsey Main Street at 7:48. You decide not to stop at Krousers because
the traffic is very bad and you cant switch lanes to get into the parking lot.
6. Finally you drive 4 more miles to the Fardale section of Mahwah. You make it to your
destination at 8:00. Youre still starving and almost out of gas!
