THE ROAD TRAFFIC (BERMUDA BICYCLE ASSOCIATION PRESIDENTS CUP BICYCLE ROAD RACE
VARIATION OF SPEED LIMITS) (NO. 3) ORDER 2022

The Minister responsible for works and engineering, in exercise of the power conferred by section 7(2A) of the
Road Traffic Act 1947, makes the following Order:

1. This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (Bermuda Bicycle Association Presidents Cup Bicycle Road
Race Variation of Speed Limits) (No. 3) Order 2022.

2. This Order applies to the contestants and to the vehicles attendant on the contestants in the Bermuda
Bicycle Association Presidents Cup Bicycle Road Race to be held on Sunday, 18 December 2022.

3. The speed limits fixed by Section 7(2)(a) of the Road Traffic Act, 1947 in respect of the roads outside of
the municipal area ofBLDC roads & Dockyard roads specified in the second column of the Schedule (the
"relevant roads") are hereby varied to the extent specified in the first column of the Schedule in respect of
the contestants and the vehicles attendant on the contestants in the Bermuda Bicycle Association
Presidents Cup Bicycle Road Race.

4. The relevant roads or parts thereof specified in the second column of the Schedule are hereby declared to
be subject, at times specified in the third column of the schedule, in respect of the contestants and the
vehicle attendant on the contestants in the Bermuda Bicycle Association Presidents Cup Bicycle Road
Race, to the speed limit specified in the first column thereof.

SPEED ROADS TIMES


LIMIT

75 kilometres Commencing at Harbour Road and Chapel Road junction then travel easterly 7:30 am to
per hour direction along Harbour Road to the The Lane, then travel easterly direction along 2:00 pm
The Lane to Crow lane, then travel westerly direction along Crow Lane into
Hamilton for Front Street, then travel westerly direction along Pitts Bay Road to
the St John's Road roundabout and then traffic westerly direction along St John's
Road to the junction at North Shore Road, turn right on North Shore Road and
then travel in easterly direction along North Shore Road to The Causeway Bridge,
continue easterly direction along The Causeway, then travel easterly direction
along Kindley Field Road, then travel in easterly direction along St David's Road,
then travel to Texas Road and turn right on to Orange Hole Road and travel
westerly direction to Pepper Hall Road and turn left and travel to Copper's Island
Road and then travel south along Cooper's Island Road to Clearwater Beach Park
to the turnaround area, and then travel northerly direction along Copper's Island
Road back to roundabout and then travel westerly direction to Southside Road,
continue along Southside Road to Stock's Road and travel westerly direction to
Wallest Point Road until reaching the junction near Double Dip ice cream shop,
then travel westerly direction along Kindley Field Road, then travel westerly
direction along The Causeway to Blue Hole Hill roundabout, then turn left onto
Wilkinson Avenue and travel southerly direction to Harrington Sound Road then
travel westerly on Harrington Sound Road to Paynters Road, then travel south on
Paynters Road to South Road, then travel westerly direction along South Road only
until reaching the Middle Road junction in Southampton Parish, then travel
westerly on Middle Road, to Somerset Road, then travel westerly on Somerset
Road to Watford Bridge, then travel easterly on Malabar Road to Dockyard and to
the turnaround area at Clock Tower Parade, then travel back in westerly direction
along Pender Road to Cockburn Road to Malabar Road then travel along Somerset
Road to Middle Road, then travel along Middle Road to the Burnt House Hill
junction and turn left on to Burnt House Hill, then travel easterly direction along
Harbour Road until reaching the end of race at the junction of Harbour Road and
Chapel Road, Paget.

3. The bicycle race will follow the route specified below.

4. The Commissioner of Police is hereby authorized to close roads or portions of roads and authorize
parking as the Commissioner of Police decides in the interests of public safety.

CYCLE RACE ROUTE:

Commencing at Harbour Road and Chapel Road junction then travel easterly direction along Harbour Road to
the The Lane, then travel easterly direction along The Lane to Crow lane, then travel westerly direction along
Crow Lane into Hamilton for Front Street, then travel westerly direction along Pitts Bay Road to the St John's
Road roundabout and then traffic westerly direction along St John's Road to the junction at North Shore Road,
turn right on North Shore Road and then travel in easterly direction along North Shore Road to The Causeway

TRAFFIC CONTROL: The bicycle race will commence on Sunday, 18 December 2022 at 7.30 am and
is expected to be concluded by 2:00 pm. All motorists are expected to use
caution and avoid collision with race participants. The race route will be under
Police and Race Officials. Motorists are asked to follow the Police and Race
Officials instructions to assist with traffic control for this event.
ROADS CLOSED: There will be no road closures to traffic while this bicycle race takes place, but
motorists are asked to use caution and allow cyclists to participate and give way
when directed by the Police and Race Officials.
PARKING: There will be no parking restriction for this bicycle race, but motorists are
permitted to park in designated parking bays along any pa.it of the race route.
Additionally, motorists must not block the race route or impede the participants
in the bicycle race.
In addition, the Police are hereby authorized to close-off streets or portions of streets and authorize parking as
the CommissionK Police determines.

CYCLE RACE ROUTE:

Commencing at Harbour Road and Chapel Road junction then travel easterly direction along Harbour Road to
the The Lane, then travel easterly direction along The Lane to Crow lane, then travel westerly direction along
Crow Lane into Hamilton for Front Street, then travel westerly direction along Pitts Bay Road to the St John's
Road roundabout and then traffic westerly direction along St John's Road to the junction at North Shore Road,
