(St. Ann’s Bay Jamaica) (December 13, 2022) As is customary, the St. Ann Municipal
Corporation in its usual effort to accommodate smooth traffic flow in major
towns in the parish, will implement traffic changes for the festive season, come
Monday December 19, 2022. The festive period brings with it an influx of both
vehicular and pedestrian traffic. The Corporation in partnership with the
Jamaica Constabulary Force will implement special measures to ensure
smoother traffic flow and the safety of pedestrians. The re-routing of traffic
within the major towns are as follows:
BROWN’S TOWN
TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS
1) There will be a detour for vehicles entering the town from the North
Coast, at the “Keep Left” sign at Cool Oasis Gas Station, in an
easterly direction along Huntley Avenue.
2) Vehicles will then turn unto Liberty Drive and continue through
Orange Hill to Top Road.
(a) Signs will be posted strategically along the detour route to guide
motorists.
(b) Police personnel will be present to assist with the monitoring of traffic,
giving information, as well as ensuring the safety of citizens.
(c) One way traffic flow will be from the shopping mall to the Court
House.

OCHO RIOS
TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS
The traffic flow will be assessed by the JCF (Police) and where deemed
necessary, the following traffic changes will be made effective Monday,
December 19, 2022 to Saturday, January 2, 2023:
a) One Way from Main Street along Old Buckfield Road exiting at the
Transportation Centre.
b) No left turn for vehicles exiting the Ocho Rios Market Car Park and Rexo
Plaza unto Main Street.
g) Bus Parking Only Signs from Craft Market across from Burger King up to
Gem Palace.
i) Enter into Eight Rivers Plaza from the Stoplight and exit on bypass at
Buckfield.

TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS
1) From Marcus Garvey Way (i.e. at intersection of Main Street) - One Way
in a Southern direction.
3) Left Turn Only & No Entry Signs, facing in a southerly direction will be
erected at corner of Bravo Hill and King Street
4) Main Street (from the intersection of Church Street to Bravo Street) and
Marcus Garvey Way to be closed to vehicular traffic on Christmas Eve
only, starting at from 7am - 12 midnight
5) Vehicles entering the town from the Hospital roundabout will divert right
unto Church Street and proceed unto Royes Street /Warren Street
/Davis Street and exit unto Gully Road on Christmas Eve only.
VENDING ARRANGEMENTS
Vendors are being reminded that there are public health requirements
relating to preparation and sale of food. They should therefore consult the
Health Department or clinics in their areas before completing arrangements
for the sale of food to the public.
N.B. All relevant agencies should be notified about the vending period above
i.e. Health Department, NSWMA and the Roads & Works Department
