Ted Talk Analysis
In the Ted Talk video, The Danger of Hiding Who You Are by Morgana Bailey, she began talking about her life as a college student. I thought it would be an inspirational video about college and why we should go; however, it was about revealing her true identity. She hid who she truly was for sixteen years. She didnt want to be known as the gay coworker, she wanted to be known just as Morgana and nothing else. She also explains why she decided to hide her true identity for all those years. She didnt want to stand out and be unique; all she wanted to do was fit in so that no one can identify her as a part of the LQBTQ+ community. I think that Morgana Bailey should have revealed who she truly was as soon as she figured out she was a lesbian. She should have embraced who she truly was and show everyone how unique she truly was. Morgana Bailey was afraid to stand out, but I think that is the best thing that someone can do, instead of being like everyone else. She was afraid of all the criticism and she was scared of people leaving her because of who she truly was. I feel like if she would have told people that she was a lesbian, then that would have been where she found out who her true friends and family members really were. I am saying this because if people would have turned their back on her then they didnt actually love her. If they did love her, then they wouldnt of had turned their backs on her for revealing to them who she truly is.
