Tell me anything that surprised you about The Single Man. Now that you are
done, what was something that you did not expect? Why?

Something that I did not expect was the fact that George wanted to kill himself. I did not
expect this because I did not know that he was so depressed about the loss of his roommate Jim.
I understand that the loss of Jim was very hard on him; however, I thought that he would do
everything other than try to commit suicide. Something else that I didnt expect was that
someone would make him rethink about his decision to commit suicide. It also surprised me that
one of his students that had no idea what was going on happened to make him rethink about
everything he thought was the right choice.
