There is a standard of 3 rounds of 5 minutes with the exception of a
championship fight which is 5 rounds of 5 minutes
o Fight stops when there is a knockout, technical knockout (a referee
stops the fight), submission, or time runs out
o When time runs out three judges rate the fighters performance out of
10 for each round, they determine who wins a fight
o These judges are not from the UFC they are from the Athletic
Commission (Nevada State Athletic Commission)
o Sometimes judges arent familiar with the sport so when it is up to
them they are often unreliable

o Knockdowns (knocked down but not out)
o Total significant strikes
o Percentage of significant strikes landed
o Total strikes
o Percentage of total strikes landed
o Take downs
o Percentage of takedowns landed
o Submission attempts
o Ground passes (transitions on the ground)
