How we can make ASME UET successful?

Plan ahead:
The hallmark of an efficient logistics manager lies in the planning process. When the plan is
foolproof, there is minimal chance of failure or a breakdown in the chain, unless there are
extenuating circumstances. So a good logistics manager will know how to plan well head to
eliminate the possibility of any delays in the supply chain.

Always have a plan B:

Even though the plan may be foolproof, logistics managers worth their salt know that they can
never be overconfident that nothing can go wrong. They always keep in mind Murphys Law: if
something can go wrong, it will. So, have contingency plans lined up. They know that its foolish
to depend on only one supplier or vendor and generally have a broad network of sources for the
products and services they need. Thats why whenever making any decision a plan B must be
kept in mind.

Cultivate strong relationships along the supply chain:

Logistics managers know that their entire operation is only as strong as the weakest link in the
supply chain. So they take great pains to forge strong and honest relationships with their
suppliers and vendors so that the goodwill they earn keeps their operations moving flawlessly.
They know that even one bad relationship can sour the entire supply chain and cause failure.

Learn from mistakes:

And finally, the best logistics managers know and accept that they are bound to make mistakes.
They dont make excuses for them; rather, they use them as stepping stones to success, learn
from their mistakes and chalk it up to experience.

Utilizing the working body (Team logistics)

Always thankful to the team.

Days before the any event the logistics jobs could be divided and assigned
among the team logistics and executives so that everything is available on time.

We can buy cheaper things from market by utilizing any team members
reference or links if they have.

We can define each persons job in terms of its contribution to the groups overall
goals.

Energetic and creative people will become frustrated very quickly if they do not
have the freedom, access to tools, and other resources they need to complete
their work.

Avoid telling members of a team what to do and how to do it. Instead, work with
them to set goals, and then remove obstacles, grant access, and provide the
support the team needs to achieve those goals.

To be in touch with the team logistics, meetings could be arranged once a week
and get suggestions for the upcoming events.

Meetings are productive and there is effective communication up, down and
across the organization it will give impression that we do value them.

The main fault was that the lanterns were not taken off at the same

TECH-WEEK:
TECH-WEEK was a technical event with the maximum prize offered for
winner as well as runner up. The aim of this event was to develop technical
skills in the participants. The workshops which are conducted were full of
knowledge.

FLAWS:

The main fault of the tech-week was not proper management.

The workshops conducted by DESCON could be

UET Olympiad 2016 is a week-long event which comprises of a variety of
programs including seminars, contests, workshops, team activities and much

Suggestions:

University security (Government officials) should be assigned for the crowd management
especially for the girls rather than assigning them at the gates during sky lanterns, this
way event will go smoothly.
It would be best if we could arrange industrial tours for students rather than conducting
workshops. The students will attain better technical knowledge and wont get bored.
