A Student Initiative
In March 1995, the engineering undergraduate student body voted 90.9% in support of the $25
per term Voluntary Student Contribution to the University of Calgary Engineering Endowment
(UCEE).
Long Term Benefit
The UCEE is a fund in which the donations made by students, alumni, and industry are invested,
and the revenue is then invested in the future of the undergraduate engineering program. The
principal is never spent, and in this way, small donations by individuals CAN make a difference.
You Control the Money
The money in the fund is controlled by representatives of industry, the faculty, and STUDENTS
LIKE YOU. These elected representatives of the student body have a strong say in how and
where the money is used. You have a say in how your money is spent!
What if I dont support UCEE?
There are, however, students who dont support UCEE. You can opt out of this fee. An opt out
form is available in the Registrars office and on the reverse page. In order to opt out, this form
must be submitted to the Registrars Office before the fee deadline.

All Engineering undergraduate students are being asked to make a tax deductible donation to the
University of Calgary Engineering Endowment. Full and part-time undergraduates are
automatically levied $25 per session (Fall and Winter). The monies raised will be invested, and
the revenue from these investments will be put toward improving the laboratory facilities of the
engineering undergraduate program. The donation is not refundable after the deadline for
payment of fees. If you wish to cancel or raise the amount of your donation, please complete the
