Quality improvement is defined as the joined efforts of the healthcare

professionals, client or patient and their families to make the changes that
will lead to better outcomes, better professional development (Betalden &
Davidoff, 2007). The purpose of this study is to provide awareness to the
community folks about the danger of home pesticide to their health. The
data that we will be collecting to the participants is the benefits of having a
translated brochure. Translated brochure is very effective to the community
folks, because it is translated to their mother tongue. We would like to know
the effectiveness of these three to the community folks. We will be utilizing a
readily available questionnaire to assess their understanding or knowledge
about the brochure that was given to them. We will gather data on Second
semester SY 2017. The quality improvement study will be conducting the
research in the community.
The gaps of the study are that no one has ever provided information or
inadequate knowledge about the danger of pesticide in our health (Nalwanga
& Ssempebwa(2011)). Most of the farmers have no knowledge about the safe
handling of pesticides (Sankoh et al.,2016). Majority of the Filipinos are
working in the agricultural (Koirala et al.,2014). The Filipinos are living near
in their work place. The pesticide is teratogenic to pregnant women (Yang et
al.,2015)). Pesticide is commonly used nowadays (Mourad et al.,2002).
We would want to close the gap by making the community folks aware
about pesticides, on how to address the situation if one of the member of the
family accidentally become a victim of poison related to home pesticide and
also imparting knowledge especially to the pregnant women who are
exposed to pesticide that might affect to the development of the baby.
Providing a brochure to the community folks, that is translated into their
language.
