Eduardo M. Loquinario was a native of Guinobatan, Albay and an architect and professor who was part of a group of renowned Bicol painting artists called Magic 8 / Big 8. Recently, he helped lead a community mural project in Brgy. Maipon, Guinobatan, Albay depicting life in Bicol 10 years after Supertyphoon Reming. The massive mural, considered the largest in Bicol, tells stories of hope and strength and has become a tourist attraction showcasing Bicolano talent.

Eduardo M. Loquinario was a native of Guinobatan, Albay.

An architect in profession
and a professor at Bicol University Institute of Architecture. He was one of the members
of Magic 8 / Big 8, a group of Albays finest painting artists. Among him are Djai Tanji,
Joyce Virtudazo Cuadra, Dan Vincent Barotilla, Buddy Relorcasa, Jane Recto,
Jopermeister Rea and Kaizer Angelo.
Recently, he has been part of a Community Dike Mural Project in Brgy. Maipon,
Guinobatan, Albay with the assistance of other painters, students and community
volunteers and with the headship of USWAG (United Society for Wellness All-inclusive
Growth) Bicol Inc. They were responsible for this massive mural painting project. It was
considered as the largest and longest mural in the Bicol Region. With the theme
Pagsalingoy, the mural depicts the life of Bicolanos 10 years after the supertyphoon
Reming. The mural will surely become an attraction which showcases the talents of
Bicolanos.
In fact, it was featured in the Philippine Daily Inquirer dated September 22,
Remembering the pain of the devastation wrought by Typhoon Reming on
province 10 years ago has been eased by images of hope and strength in a
painted by survivors, an excerpt in the article retold stories of hope. It was then
the Mural of Resilience.
