2.1 Machine
2.1.1

Feed

Particle size of 1.0 mm to minus #400 mesh (45 microns). Up to 45% solids by weight recommended, 50%
maximum. The absolute maximum solids throughput is 30 tons/h (27 tonnes/h) solids, or 350 USgpm
(1230 l/min) slurry, depending on feed characteristics. Optimum results may not be obtained at maximum
values. See section 5.1 Slurry Feed for more details.

Table 2.1-1 will help in determining operating limitations. It shows the relationship between a volumetric
pulp flow rate and % solids content of the feed, and how this affects the solids throughput. The shaded area
represents conditions outside the recommended capacity limit in tons per hour solids, pulp density or
volumetric flow.

2.2 Electrical Requirements


The AutoPac is supplied with base frequency and voltage as requested by the customer. Supply
conditioners and in-line reactors are included to avoid damage to the AutoPac. The power supply must be
as ordered, spikes in the voltage or current are not acceptable.

Important: Damage caused by voltage spikes or dips are not covered under Sepros
warranty.
The AutoPac does not include the electrical cables to connect to the motor, solenoids, pneumatic
proportional valve, and vibration switch terminal in the machine-mounted junction box. See AutoPac
Schematic drawings for power supply and/or cable specifications.

2.3 Compressed Air Requirements (see also 3.6 Air Connections)


If a compressor is supplied by Sepro, it will be suited for the required voltage and be capable of supplying
the pressure and volume requirements of the concentrator. It will be of a horizontal type that requires
approximately 4 x 6 (1.5m by 2m) of floor space. The location should be in a clean, dry place in close
proximity to the concentrator.
If the customer is to supply the compressed air, a maximum of 50 psi (350 kPa) above feed line pressure is
required for the feed pinch valve, and a constant 300 psi (2070 kPa) @ 14 scfm (6.6 l/s) is required for
operating the throttling valves.

Installation
All of the slurry piping connections for the Falcon Concentrator are grooved for Victaulic fittings.
Although this may be the simplest and most inexpensive method for connecting the piping, Sepro
recommends that Victaulic-flange adapters are used here in conjunction with flanged vibration isolators (or
expansion joints).
