Flashlight Circuit Board Report

Every electrical appliance has circuit inside to make them
work. There are many different circuits. Things in the circuit can be
arranged differently, which make it a different circuit. In class, we
had a chance to build our own basic flashlight circuit board by using
transistors, switch, battery, diode, clips, and board. Our objective
was to light up the diode, and creating a complete circuit.

Procedure
Make 6 small holes and 1 square hole on the board.
Plug the switch in the square hole.
Plug in two resistors next to each other, and connect them by
binding their legs or with the clips. Then, bind the leg of the

resistor that is the closest to the switch to the nearest leads of
the switch.
Plug in the diode, and make sure that the longer leg is towards
the resistor. Next, bind the longer leg with the leftover leg of
the resistor.
Next is to connect the battery with the circuit. First, connect
the red wire with the leads at the center of the switch. Then,
connect the black wire with the leftover leg of the diode.
Now, turn on the switch and the diode should light up.
Physics
In this circuit, there is a sliding switch. When the switch is
opened, the circuit is not complete. When the circuit is not
complete, the current cant flow therefore the diode doesnt light up.
When the switch is closed, the circuit is complete, and it allows the
current to flow through the circuit. Therefore, the diode lights up.
However, if the diodes longer leg is not connected to the positive
side, it wont light up. Another concern is if theres no resistor, the
diode may blow up since theres too much current for the diode to
handle.

Summary
The creation of flashlight circuit was successful. In order to
light up the diode, the circuit must be completed. The switch in the
circuit allows the light to be turned on and off at will. The transistors
prevent the diode from blowing up. The circuit works because the
battery, switch, transistors, and diode are connected properly.
