Flagship

On 14, 15, 16 May 10 Region 9 of the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps will be conducting the annual
Flagship at Great Lakes Naval Training Center.
Flagship or Operational Readiness Inspection (ORI), Special ceremonies/region-wide activities are
strongly encouraged. These activities promote team spirit and provide excellent training under
competitive conditions. The cadets spend their weekend in competitions that include Semaphore, Knot
Tying, Honor Guard Drill, Heaving Line, Military Drill, Fire Fighting Preparedness, First Aid & Stretcher
Bearing and other various events. The cadets also have the opportunity to meet other cadets from other
states and Divisions to indulge in camaraderie and possibly build life long friendships.
COST for each Cadet will be $30.00. This will include berthing for the week end along with three meals
for Saturday and two meals on Sunday. It also includes an event T-shirt. Each Cadet can also bring
money for a meal stop on Friday or a sack lunch during the trip to Great Lakes NTC. Additional money
can also be brought for a trip to the NEX (Naval Exchange) for uniform supplies and souvenirs. Payment
will be accepted anytime up until the time of departure.
If you are going to attend Your T-shirt size will be needed .
We will be leaving the U.S. Army Reserve Center. 661 Sullivan Rd. Aurora promptly at 1630
on 14 May 10. All Cadets will travel in uniform, which will be Regulation BDUs . If you are unable to
make that time please contact me at 224-629-8263 so that alternate arrangements can be made.
Make sure that you have your current ID Card..
IDENTIFICATION CARDS WILL BE REQUIRED FOR BASE ACCESS.
A sea bag list of items that will be needed for this evolution will be issued.
Additional information concerning the Awards Ceremony and attendance on Sunday will be issued at a
later date along with our expected return time on Sunday afternoon.
