Nora Ephron was born on May 19, 1941.
Although born in New york City she was
raised in Beverly Hills.

Nora Ephron was the eldest of four sisters,
Delia, Amy and Hallie.
She was the daughter of screenwriters Henry
Ephron and Phoebe Ephron. Her parents often
collaborating together lead to have a great
influence on her family. Even their dinners
would most commonly consist of disputes over
different intellectual topics.
The director's favorite thing about her mother
was her worth ethic. Unlike other children her
mother worked. Since she grew up with such an
impactful female role model she knew what she
could be capable of. Even as a child her mother
would promote the idea of writing in her
household and new they were capable of becoming
great.

After graduating from Wellesley College in
Massachusetts, in 1962, she moved back to her
birthplace and became a reporter and an essayist. Here
she experienced something so simple yet so impactful,
through writing she had made someone laugh.

According to Biography.com Her essays initially
grabbed attention in the early 1970s, and by the 1980s,
she began to transition into screenwriting.
She was focused Romantic Comedies, which consisted of
strong female characters. Her most impactful one being
When harry met sally it contained a revolutionary
scene of Sally performing a fake orgasm in a crowded
restaurant.

Nora married three times and divorced twice. Her first
marriage to writer Dan Greenburg ended in divorce after
nine years. She sated: "I just didn't really want to be
married that much."

In her second marriage to Carl Bernstein she had two
kids, Jacob and Jack Bernstein. Sadly, although leaving
an emotional scar her second marriage helped her career
progress. When she found out that her husband had had
an affair with her closest friend she was distraught
which led to the creation of Heartburn a thinly
disguised novel about her marriage and divorce.

And although her first marriage with a journalist
failed Her second didnt. She was married to Nicholas
D. Pileggi, in 1987, in her house. It was a successful
and long lasting marriage.

In 2009 she wrote and directed, sleepless in Seattle,
youve got mail, and Julie and Julia, Bewitched, and
lucky numbers. She was proud to be able to have the
opportunity to work with so many people including her
own sisters. Which would always collaborate with each
other.

At age 71, Nora died, on June 26,
2006 with pneumonia, she kept it

and strong. She left a great legacy behind that
involves creative talents who owe a lot to her. She
helped make Meg Ryan a household name, elevated Tom
Hanks to leading man status and earned Meryl Streep two
of her 17 Oscar nominations. She introduced us to what
its like to be a hard working women. And gifted us
with many of her alluring, exceptional, hilarious, and
realistic films.
