Beowulf Summary Part 1

In viking time, vikings were fearless and feared upon until one day came a monster
called Grendel. Grendel was malevolent, he was too great a danger and a threat for Hrothgar
and his army. Grendel was angry because the viking would wake him with their feasts in the
Mead Hall. Grendel sought revenge by eating vikings in their sleep, when vikings were most
vulnerable unable to fight back. Hearing such a tragedy Beowulf set to sea for Hrothgar's
Kingdom to save them from the horrid monster, Grendel. Beowulf defeated grendel by
pretending to sleep. As Grendel snuck up on Beowulf, Beowulf leaped and took a hold of
Grendel's arm, frightened by someone taking a hold of him Grendel tried to escape but ripped
off his arm instead. Beowulf took in Grendels arm as a trophy to King Hrothgar. Grendel ran for
his life back in his den, in the swamp to die. As Beowulf, Hrothgar and his kingdom celebrated in
triumph, Grendels mother seeks revenge for the murder of her son. She Kills Kings Hrothgar's
closest friend and takes back Grendels arm. Beowulf hunts her down and sinks deep into the
supernatural swam, there he battles with her and just before he feels like giving up and loses all
hopes he spots a Giants sword and beheads her. From above you can see the water turning of
blood, Hrothgars soldiers, who had accompanied Beowulf lose all hope and leave, but
Beowulf's men stay. Soon Beowulf Rises from the water with Grendels mothers head and they
have a huge celebration and live in peace.
