Reflection
There are many things that can be done in order to help prepare ourselves for the next step
after graduating high school. Throughout quarter 1, we have been making several types of
projects and essays for our plans after graduation. We constructed a financial and housing
plan, a time management plan, a resume and cover letter, a college application essay, and the
Nickel and Dimed annotated bibliography. The resume and cover letter was useful because I
could submit it wherever I want to get a job while going to school. The financial/housing and
time management plan helped me realize the amount of income I need to make and what
expenses I will have, as well as how I need to manage my time better to fit in all my daily
activities.
The research I did about my post-secondary plans made me want to stick with my original
plan of living with parents and going to school, instead of living on near/on school campus. I
found that it will cost about $ 37,000 a year just to live near school plus tuition, books, and
transportation (Standard Cost of Attendance). I feel like I could save a lot of money if my
parents help me out. I looked at apartment complexes around campus and found one place that

appealed to me, but the expenses are almost the same as living in a dorm on campus. The 922
Place located in Tempe requires students to share the apartment and charges $769.00 per
person a month (922 PLACE- Extraordinary Spaces for Extraordinary Living). The place
comes fully furnished and is equipped to reach all students needs. Obviously, the real world is
expensive, and by looking at the thousands of dollars I will have to pay, I most likely need to
get a job as soon as possible. Then, I will have a source of income which will help me take
responsibility and manage my money properly to see what I can and cannot do.
