To Whom It Concerns,
| am a fourth grade teacher at Pittsford Elementary School in Pittsford,
Michigan. | have worked with Katelyn Smith in the capacity of supervising teacher
to student teacher. She has been my student teacher from January 4, 2016 to
April 12, 2016.
Katelyn is a great young lady who dresses and handles herself very
professionally. She has been teaching a heterogeneously mixed group of students
this semester. Katelyn works very well with all ranges of abilities from the high to
the low achieving students. During the semester she has helped with the
students getting a class book published which also included the chance for
parents to purchase a copy of the book! Katelyn is very creative in her lessons
and has designed several science lessons incorporating experiments which the
students have loved. She has developed a good discipline with the students
which has both commanded respect from the students and has left them with a
good self-esteem. Katelyn is also a very flexible person which is an important
characteristic to possess as a teacher. She adapts very well to the unexpected
and to change that is a common occurrence in the elementary classroom. In
addition, Katelyn is always willing to listen and is open to suggestions to help
improve herself as well as her students’ learning.
Katelyn is a very caring person who gets along with all who know her. The
students have really enjoyed having her as their teacher. Katelyn is always
thinking about how she can better help the students she is working with. | feel
Katelyn has everything it takes to make an excellent teacher! | shall miss her and
wish her the best in her future endeavors. If there should be any further inquiry, |
may be contacted at the school at (517) 523-3481 ext. 312
Sincerely,
Corts Clark
