What strategies did the teacher use during the lesson?

Clear learning intention and success criteria displayed. It was referred to throughout the
lesson and was clear to the students.
Use of new vocabulary variable, coefficient and constant.
These words were already previously introduced in the unit as students were able to show
me.
Use of names on the board as a behavior management strategy.
Use of questioning to encourage discussion and thinking to extend students knowledge.
Choosing students to explain and re-tell what substitution is.
Mini-Lesson reflects independent task
Confiscating a laptop to ensure students are listening.

To find more strategies/ consequences for students who call out.
Engaging students by asking few students to add the vocabulary words to the word wall
regularly.
Engagement of students by regular quizzes, kahoot, grab bag activity which in turn acts as a
great assessment task.
