VIT Observation: Mathematics Strategies

The teacher used clear learning objectives and success criteria, introduced new vocabulary words, called on students to explain concepts, and confiscated a laptop to ensure student focus. Students generally followed expectations and were able to explain mathematical terms. The observer had questions about how the teacher encourages students not to call out, incorporates vocabulary into the word wall, and assesses students. Next steps include finding strategies to address calling out, having students add words to the word wall, and using engaging assessment methods like quizzes.
