The attention of the Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, AP and the Director of
Treasuries and Accounts, AP is invited to the references cited and informed that in the
reference 2nd cited, O/o the Accountant General, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, has
informed that an amount of Rs.1,60,01,721 remitted by M/s. Anjani Portland Cements Ltd.,
is transferred from CST head of account to A.P.VAT head of account in the records of
Accountant General for the year 2015-16 and necessary correction may be made in the
records of the Department and Treasury accounts.
Regarding, Rs.2,20,95,361/- remitted under CST instead of VAT by M/s Britannia
Industries Ltd., vide e-challan No.1600418278 on 20-04-2016, it is informed that as the
transaction pertains to April, 2016 i.e., 2016-17 (current financial year), necessary
rectification/corrections can be made by concerned Treasury itself by proposing an
Alteration Memorandum.
In view of the above, the Commissioner of Commercial Taxes and Director of
Treasuries, Andhra Pradesh are requested to make necessary corrections in their records in
respect of amount remitted by M/s Anjani Portland Cements Ltd.
Further, the Director of Treasuries and Accounts, Andhra Pradesh is requested to
issue necessary instructions to the concerned District Treasury Officer to transfer and adjust
the amounts of Rs.2,20,95,361 remitted by M/s Britannia Industries Ltd., vide e- challan
No.1600418278 on 20-04-2016 from CST to VAT by proposing an Alteration Memorandum
as suggested by the Accountant General office. Copy of the A.Gs letter dt.10.10.2016 is
enclosed herewith for reference.
