I chose 12th grade Food Processing. I chose to do an overview of the subject, things like
basic regulations, GMOs, and antibiotics. These things are very controversial in the public eye
right now and will continue to be, so this would be a great thing to use as a lesson for my future
classroom.
Geoff Metcalf. N.p., n.d. Web. 4 Oct. 2016. http://www.geoffmetcalf.com/bread.html
This is an awful, and very untrustworthy site. There are no references to back up the data
given on the page. There is no information on the author, or how to contact them. Along with all
this, it is just a bunch of random facts, which are really opinions and there is no other tabs or
information on the site/page. There is nothing positive on the page that could be useful to
students.

2016. Web. 4 Oct. 2016. http://allianceforscience.cornell.edu/blog/mark-lynas/gmosafety-debate-over
This is a credible site. While some may find it controversial, it is still credible. The author
is well known writer on climate change. Also this is from Cornell University Alliance for
Science. This article gives very specific examples involving credible people and organizations.

This is another credible source. This is from a department of the U.S government, the
FDA. It tells you how you can contact the FDA and where they are located. Not only this, but it
was also recently updated, which shows they keep it up-to-date with the most current
information. This gives documents and appendices to back up the information given.
Pets or Food.com. Pets or Food.com. N.p., n.d. Web. 4 Oct. 2016. http://petsorfood.com/
This is not a credible source by any means. Some of the tabs, or links, do not work on this
website. It looks like a legitimate website to those who do not know how to evaluate it, but when
you dig deeper is when you find the problems that are lying beneath the display. If you actually
put an animal in your cart, when you go to checkout it shows there is nothing there. This
means that they have none of the product that the website says it offers. Also offering Bald Eagle
would be illegal since it illegal to kill them. Also, it shows that the CEO also runs another
website that eRetailers can use to boost their page views by clicking on ads. Finally, there are
many ads on this website that do not correlate to the website in any fashion.
Regulations. N.p., n.d. Web. 4 Oct. 2016.
http://www.fsis.usda.gov/wps/portal/fsis/topics/regulations
This is a very credible site. It is by the USDA, United States Department of Agriculture,
also a government ran agency. It was also last updated September, so you also get the latest, and
most current, information. Also this gives you ways to contact the USDA.
