CONTRAL GROUP SS2 B

No specific introduction was given to the control group. The traditional teaching was
applied. No form of treatment was administered to the group. They were expected to take the
same pretest and posttest questions with the experimental group. After which their performance
were averred.
Week1. The students were given a pretest on the theme of the novel The Last Good Man
and the figure of speech used by the writer in the novel. A summary of the novel as a whole was
given.
Week2. An introduction to prose analysis was taught, with a focus on the theme,
characterization, plot and setting. Notes were given and students were required to read the novel
as expected to know what the novel was really all about; the plot, character development, major
and minor characters.
Week3. Prose analysis as the novel as a whole was taught. The students were expected to
use the step practically in analyzing the text in use properly.
Week4. A post test on essay on the theme of the novel and the use of figure of speech in
the novel was given. After a session of the teaching pro
