Our Framework is consists of the core components of a smart city.

It covers the
technology, Infrastructure, Environment, People, Governance and Sustainability.

Technology: It is viewed as one of the most important prerequisite for smart

solutions. Smart computing and IoT technologies are integrated with city
infrastructure on various levels.

IT Applications: Here, the end user applications as well as middle ware application
remain in sync and collaborate with the each other resulting better performance
and reliability in the system.

Security: People getting indulged and interacted with too many devices give rise to
serious privacy concerns and ignorance towards those issues or the delay in the
required actions can result into undesired consequences.
Analytics: Smart objects (connected) will generate tremendous amount of insightful
data which will enable us to make better contextual decisions for the citizens.

Infrastructure: It is the major requirement for large scale and effective smart city
development which can bring benefit to citizens as well as to enterprises.
Buildings: It can be designed using smart sensors and smart systems technologies
to perform more effectively. Smart sensors sense the humidity, daylight,
temperature, air pollution and other variables and delivers cooling and lighting only
where is needed.
Transportation: Transportation is one of the most important component of smart
cities in terms of faster, better and cheaper services to all the citizens.
Environment: Smart cities are equally about environmental sustainability. ICT
applications enable the effective management of natural resources such as water,
solar energy, and wind energy,etc.
Water: It will keep track of flow, quality and consumption of water using ICT
systems. Which helps to visualize the data and how to improve wastewater
management.
Energy: Use of advanced ICT systems and data analytics can help to enable more
efficient energy uses.
People: Human factors is the important part of the smart city. It consists of social
structure, healthcare and education.
Social structure: It enables citizens, and their communities, to become active users
and participate in the governance and management of the city.

Healthcare: It enables individuals to make smarter choices about their health using
their previous health records. It will help in diagnosing and treat illness.
Education: It enables e-learnings for the people. It also helps in developing new
teaching method and improve learning outcomes.

Governance: Smart city projects involve multiple stakeholders requiring innovative

and effective governance in terms of laws, administrative rules, judicial rulings, and
practices that prescribe and constrain government activity. [13] It consists of Policy,
Planning and Economy.

Policy: Smart cities involve the interaction of technology with political and
institutional components. Policy creates conditions that enable urban development.
Planning: After analyzing data for traffic, weather, crime, flood, earthquake etc. It
will help government to make better planning during emergency.
Economy: A core purpose of a smart city is to foster innovation and to increase
economic competitiveness.

Sustainability: Cities need to focus on sustainability and quality of life. To achieve

the sustainability in smart city, there are major four following principles:

Foresight: It signifies a commitment to address long-term challenges and aspirations

of a city.
Equity: It refers to the availability of the well-being conditions across all segments of
a city.
Efficiency: It refers to the performance of a city with respect to resources, finances
and human power to produce the desired outcomes.
Maintenance: Technology should be such that it will reduced operational costs such
as maintenance, scaling, integration, etc.
