Delivering
Wilderness Adventures
That last a Lifetime

Waite Phillips, Philmonts benefactor, was

an enthusiastic and accomplished rancher,
fly-fisherman, and philanthropist. He spent
many days, along with many of Americas
most prominent citizens, fly rod in hand,
fishing the small streams and lakes of
Gods Country, otherwise known as
Philmont.
You can enjoy the same quality experience
at the Quapaw Area Councils annual
Philmont Adventure.
Quapaw Area Council Board Member Dick
Browning along with council Scout
Executive John Carman are inviting a small
group of Arkansans to experience the Boy
Scouts of Americas oldest, most prestigious
high adventure base with two days of fun
and adventure in the high country of
Northern New Mexico.
The adventure will be filled with great food,
fun activities, behind-the-scenes tours, and
comfortable housing at the Philmont
Training Center. Optional activities offered
during the weekend will include plenty of
down time to simply take in the beautiful
mountains and wildlife.
The fee for the four day trip is $400 per
person (plus travel) and is limited to 12
participants. Participants are responsible
for their own transportation to and from
Philmont. Meals, lodging, and activities are
included. For those who wish to fly, we will
provide transportation from the Albuquerque
Sunport (Airport) to Philmont and back
upon request.
