AAA Update: Our 2010 AAA goal this year is $40,655.00.
To date we have pledges of $47,561.00 THANK YOU! Even
though we have made our goal in pledges, we ask that if
you have not yet made your pledge please do so. We will
receive a rebate based on a percentage of the amount we
bring in over our goal. Last year that rebate check was in
the amount of $3,500, which went into our parking lot fund.

Dear Parish Family,
Today is the 11th Sunday of Ordinary Time. I would like to
devote this weeks column to the maintenance and repairs
projects: those that have been completed this past year and
those that are underway.
This is the 2nd anniversary of our monthly repairs and
maintenance collection. The collection has helped us to do so
many of our needed repairs and maintenance projects. I thank
you for your generosity and support!
Below you will find a list of the projects that have been
completed, followed by a list of projects that are still underway, all center (201-845-9566).

As I write about these projects, I would also like to update you
on our parking lot project. The cost is $104,500.00, and I am
hoping that the work will be done during the first week in August.
I am hoping that our mega raffle currently underway will help
cover a large portion of the parking lot project. Each ticket is $10,
and 3 tickets can be purchased for $25. As in the past there will
be 3 winners. The drawings will be held on Sunday, August 15th, much trust in you from wars, hatred, and oppression. Make us all learn to
after the Rosary procession.

This weekend at the 10 am Mass our parish celebrates our last
Family Mass of the Pastoral year. I take this opportunity to thank
Sr. Jane Feltz, M.P.F., and the catechists who have helped with
this past years Liturgy of the Word for Children. Our Family
Masses will be celebrated every week beginning in the Fall.

60TH ANNIVERSARY NEWS
Mark This Year's Calendar - November 7, 2010
Our 60th Anniversary Gala will begin with Mass at 3 pm
celebrated by Bishop John Flesey, D.D.. Mass will be followed by
a reception from 5 - 9 pm at the Hasbrouck Heights Hilton. Good
food, fun, fellowship, and great dancing with a fabulous live
band. (Watch future bulletins for ticket information.)
The Gala Committee is looking for prizes. If you would like to
donate something such as Hotel or condo stays, vacations or
trips, spa treatments, sporting event tickets, theater or concert
tickets, jewelry (we have a man's watch), restaurant certificates,

looking to gather pictures and memorabilia to tell the history of
OLQP Church (and school).
Do you have any pictures/memorabilia (old or more recent) that

something? Perhaps you are in contact with a former parishioner
or Religious/Clergy who served the parish and who has items
theyd like to share. People have already started looking through
old photo albums and storage boxes as well as rummaging
through junk drawers and containers to find these treasures!
Two such treasures are a 1968 OLQP School Yearbook and a
Collection Envelope from years gone by.

Feast day: June 18 / 1164
A Benedictine abbess who was a gifted mystic. She had her first
vision in 1152 and was known for ecstasies, prophecies, and
diabolical visitations. She became abbess in 1157 . Her cult was
never formalized, but she is listed as a saint in the Roman
Martyrology. Her brother, Ethbert, a Benedictine abbot, wrote her
biography and recorded her visions in three books.

People generally have no real problem wearing proper clothing
when entering places that demand such attire. Would you ever
consider attending a formal dinner or a wedding dressed in a
tee shirt and shorts, or a tank top and swimming trunks? Each

before a minor young woman could have an abortion. Please call

RESPECT LIFE UPDATES
The Respect Life Committee would like to thank all of the
parishioners who are participating in our Spiritual Adopt a Baby
program. It is an on-going 9 month program. Please feel free to
pick up an extra prayer card in the church and join your prayers
to ours. We will update you each month as to the development of
your baby. There are prayer cards for our Spiritual Adoption
Program in the basket in the back of the church. Please feel free
to take one and pray for a baby to be spared from abortion. In
October 2010, we will have a baby shower to celebrate the births
of our adopted babies. We look forward to another successful
program this year as we strive to end abortions and return our
country to a culture of life.

President Obama has nominated Elena Kagen to fill the
upcoming vacancy on the US Supreme Court. Ms. Kagen has
NO experience as a judge! Based on her public writings and
speeches, she is an aggressive advocate of abortion rights and a
supporter of taxpayer funding of abortions. She has donated to
abortion-rights groups and has strong ties to abortion advocacy

Father, Mother, and Family
The child then must be understood as the
maximum expression of the communion between man and
woman, the reciprocal acceptance and donation that is realized
and transcended in a "third," who is that child. The child is God's
blessing. He transforms husband and wife into father and mother.
Both "go out from themselves" and express themselves beyond
themselves in a person, the very fruit of their love.
In a special way the ideal expressed in Jesus' priestly prayer can
be applied to the family. In this prayer he asks that his unity with
the Father involve the disciples (cf. Jn 17:11) and those who
believe in their word (cf. Jn 17:20-21). The Christian family, as
"domestic Church", is called to realize this ideal of perfect
communion in a special way (John Paul II, Responsibility for the
Promotion of the Family," December 1, 1999).

our Rectory will close at 12:00 noon on Friday

YEAR FOR PRIESTS
In observance of the 150th anniversary of the death of
Saint John Vianney, the Cur of Ars (August 4, 1859),
Pope Benedict XVI has proclaimed a Year for Priests
beginning June 19, 2009 and ending June 11, 2010.
The dates coincide with the Solemnity of the Most
Sacred Heart of Jesus which, since the pontificate of
Pope John Paul II, has been observed as a world day
for the sanctification of priests. During the course of the
year, the Holy Father intends to proclaim the Cur of
Ars, until now patron of diocesan priests, patron of all
the priests of the world. Please keep your parish priest
and all priests of the world in your prayers during this
special year.

How You Can Help Increase Priestly Vocations
Pray for an increase in vocations to the priesthood.
Offer your time and financial support to strengthen youth
ministries in your parish.
Teach your children and grandchildren how to listen to the
promptings of the Holy Spirit.
Ask your children and grandchildren if they ever thought
about becoming a priest.
If you know someone who has the qualities of a good priest,
point it out to him.
Pray for the young men discerning the priesthood.
Find ways to support and encourage seminarians in your
diocese.

To celebrate the end of this year, our parish will have a
coffee hour on Sunday, June 20, 2010 after the
10:00 am Mass to honor our own priests.

PAVING THE WAY -The next phase of our
fundraising effort to pay for the new parking lot is
underway. You should have received in the mail the
book of tickets for our super raffle. The drawings will
take place on August 15th, at around 2 PM, in our
auditorium. This will be after our Rosary procession.
The first prize is 25% of the total amount brought in;
second prize is 15% of total; and third prize will be 10%
of total. Be sure to make your returns right away to get
into the drawings. If you prefer not to enter our drawings
by buying tickets, donations to the parking lot fund will
be gladly accepted and deeply appreciated. To date the
prize money is up to $3,385.00 - 814 tickets sold.

Mother Teresa Denied Honor
Empire State Lighting Partners are denying
Mother Teresa the honor of having the towers
shine in blue, white and blue on August 26. On
this day, the U.S. Postal Service will honor her
with a stamp, marking the 100th anniversary of
her birth.

Our Ladys Monthly Prayer Vigil for Life will be meeting in Bergen
County in June again on the 13th in honor of Our Lady whose last
apparition in Fatima was on the 13th of May. We continue to gather
each month in a different county of the Archdiocese for prayer
before the Blessed Sacrament, Rosary, opportunity for Confession
and a teaching and/or a witness to living the Gospel of Life today.
