Assignment 1 Research Question


A psychologist was interested in weather different tv shows lead to a more positive
outlook on life. People were split into 4 groups and then taken to a room to view a
program. The four groups saw: The muppet show, Futurama, The news, No program.
After the program a blood sample was taken and serotonin levels measured
(remember more serotonin means more happy).

Carry out a one way Annova to test the hypothesis that some tv shows make people
happier than other.
Ho. All tv programs produces same level of happiness in people
Ha: Atleast one tv program produces happiness of different level in people among
other programs

Conclusion: Since Sig value is less than the level of significance our null hypothesis is
rejected
More over F cal is greater than 3.5 at Alpha 0.05 thus Ho is again rejected. Hence the result
proves that there is a significant difference in the level of happiness produces by different
programs.
