Army special rules
Old world travelers: Units on foot with this rule may make a free reform move at the start of
the controlling players movement phase switching from their normal formation to a skirmish
formation or back. They will, however, lose any combat resolution bonuses associated with
their normal formation when charging an enemy unit in the same turn they switched from a
skirmish formation to their normal one.
Terrible burden: Reroll failed rolls to hit in close combat, if a unit or model with this rule is
ever forced to flee they are removed from play immediately. Characters with this rule may
never be the army general.
Cursed existence: Normal weapons suffer a -1 modifier on their to wound rolls against
models with the cursed existence rule. Characters may never join units with this rule.
Equipment
Bloodsteel weaponry: Hand weapon, magical attacks, armour piercing. May be used twohanded to provide +1S.
Strigany crossbow: 24 inch, S4, may move and fire but normal modifiers apply.
Hooded umbra cape: Wearer counts as ethereal when not in combat and in a terrain feature.
Raven familiar: A wizard accompanied by a raven familiar is allowed to choose an
additional spell from whatever lore he is using. His other spells are still rolled for as normal.

Lore of the Strigany:

1 Old

Every Strigany knows the words to soothe a frightened

animal, but only a true Petru can speak them with such
conviction and power of will that he is able to calm the most
dangerous beasts.
This spell can be cast on an enemy cavalry unit, swarm or a
single ridden or unridden monster in base contact to the
caster. Any creatures affected by the spell may not attack in
that turns close combat phase.

3+

2 Shadowy

Some Petru are able to let their spirit soar on the wings of nearby
birds, seeing and feeling the world through eyes endowed with
piercing clarity. A somewhat nauseating experience, the benefits
usually make up for any passing feelings of discomfort as enemy
positions and deadly surprises are laid bare to the scrutinizing gaze
of an unseen observer.
Any hidden units or characters are immediately revealed to the
casting player. If the wizard casting the spell is accompanied by a
raven familiar, he may nominate an enemy unit or character and
reveal their magic items. Alternatively the caster may target a
murder of crows unit who then becomes subject to hatred until the
casters next magic phase.
Many are the tales told and retold by the Strigany caste of elders,
the tracts of which are etched deep in the mind of each of their
order. They are the ones tasked with reminding the scattered
Strigany of their shared heritage and more than once has the tide
of battle been turned by an impassioned speech or a scathing
reminder of the noble countenance of ones forebearers.
This spell may be cast on a friendly unit within 12 inch of the caster.
The affected unit receives a +1 to hit to both their shooting and
close combat attacks.
It takes but a single glance to steal a mans heart ...and a fleeting
touch to take his soul Strigany aphorism.
This spell can only be cast on the wizard himself. For that turn if an
attack by the caster hits, the target is killed automatically with no
armour saves allowed.
Strigany lore is well-known for its tendency towards
overdramatization, but in some cases the truth will eclipse even the
most boisterous tale, and the fall of Mourkain is a fine example. It is
said that Ushorans last cry of anger and frustration shook the orcinfested valleys and toppled what remained of his fair city. His
tormented wail still reverberates around the world and those who
are well versed in the ancient lore are able to echo it to the
detriment of both foe and ally alike.
Each unit within 12 inch of the caster (including any unit he is with
but not the caster himself) suffers D6 S3 hits. Strigany units (with
the old world travelers rule) are equally affected but also gain
frenzy and hatred until the start of the casters next magic phase.
Although the kingdom of Strygos fell long ago, the bloodpact
sealing the Striganys faith to that of their vampiric overlords was
never broken. If a desperate Petru is left with no other alternative,
he will call upon the protection of a darker power. This sort of aid,

however, requires a personal sacrifice that few are willing to make.

A Petru casting this spell loses one wound with no saves of any kind
allowed. The caster sacrifices this wound regardless of the failure or
success of the spell. 2D3+4 ghouls are summoned from a chosen
table edge acting as a unit that had pursued an enemy of the field.
