SegaSoft changes (v1.02)

The following changes were made in the summer of 1997 during the time that SegaSoft was still
considering marketing the game

Extensive test tube fixes: Enlarged swimmers, forced their limbs to conform to the
bottom of the tube, fixed proboscis color, added random proboscis movement,
eliminated flicker.
Altered the color preference algorithm to avoid the selection of a preferred color that is
not present in the swimmer.
Fixed the 'invalid genetic data' problem that appeared when a swimmer was engineered
to have a base color of RED.
Fixed swimmer loading problem.
Added Paste option to the context (right-click) menu in the pond.
Fixed the incorrect cursor appearance caused by dragging a swimmer through the
control panel and onto the menu bar.
Shrunk the 'Tweak Ecology' dialog box for a better fit.
Minor grammar and wording changes.

Rebirth changes (V1.10)

These changes were started in the summer of 2004 in an effort to bring the Pond up to date

Added the ability to run in windowed mode. The original game would only run fullscreen.
The user can now choose between windowed and fullscreen in the Preferences dialog.
In windowed mode, the game will still conform to a fixed 640x480 layout.
Minor changes to make the code buildable with Windows XP libraries.
Added Jeffreys URL to the About dialog box.

V1.11 (12/1/04)

Fixed graphical corruption of the cursor in 32bit windowed mode

Changed the fullscreen graphics mode from 8-bit (paletted) to 16bit. This fixed a display
problem with the window frame when running on XP and a color palette problem. Very
low end machines may run slower.

V1.20 (12/12/04)

Fixed line drawing bug

Made sample pond 5 ( eels ) the default pond if there were no previous ponds in the
registry.
Moved the registry keys from HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Segasoft\Darwin
Pond to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Rocket Science\Darwin Pond.
Removed references to Segasoft from the splash screen.
Updated the credits dialog.

Known Bugs & Limitations

24bit desktop color not supported for windowed mode.

When toggling between the Zoom In and Zoom Out cursors with the SHIFT key, the
appearance of the cursor icon wont change unless the cursor moves.

The Installer is broken and needs work.

The Screen Saver is broken and needs work.
