Interests and Respect.

"A feeling or understanding that someone or something is important,

serious, etc., and should be treated in an appropriate way." (Simple
Definition of respect 2016)

We want children to be able to understand and use respect with

others. We want the children to be able to build positive
relationships and learn how to treat other with showing respect.
During this term the class will be learning about the invisible
bucket. I will be encouraging children to respect others in a friendly
way and discussing about why we need to respect others. We will
read books that relate to their interests.
We will focus on this in group discussions and individual activities
and play. We will discuss why I should be used? What it feels like?
How words can be used in a respectful way and in a not so
respectful way.
Our intention is to provide resources for the children to enable
them to build on their interests. While the children participate in the
resources they will use their knowledge of respect to interact in
play.
As a part of this intent there will be use of modeling respect and
appropriate behaviours that will help with the children's interaction
with each other.
(Children connect and contribute to their own learning, children
have awareness of fair and unfair behaviours. Children grow in
confidence responsibility for their own health and physical
wellbeing.)
