Project Description
1.1

Project Location

MMDC Nickel Mining Projects mining operations are covered by Mineral


Production Sharing Agreement (MPSA) No. 016-93-XIII issued on December 22,
2008 and Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) 0807-022-1093 amended
on April 23, 2013 for 3,000,000 WMT Under the amended ECC, the company
allows to conduct mining operations within the whole MPSA with an area of
4,799hectares to increase its annual production from 1,500,000 WMT to
3,000,000 WMT. In September 17, 2015 said permit was amended for the
increase in production from 3,000,000 WMT to 5,000,000 WMTwithin same
MPSA area.
The Project is located in Barangays Panikian and Babuyan of the Municipality of
Carrascal, BarangayCabangahan of the Municipality of Cantilan and Barangay
Bayogo of the Municipality of Madrid (Annex 1). The MMDC MPSA tenement
area is bounded by the following geographical coordinates in Luzon-Mindanao
Datum (Table 2-1).

Commodity
MMDC Nickel Mining Project extracts limonite and saprolite with economic
nickel grade. At present, the company has two (2) mining areas: Pili mine area
and Cabangahan mine area. Cabangahan has four (4) main material types (from
top to bottom) defines as topsoil, limonite, saprolite and bedrock. Only limonite
material is observed in Pili.

The reserves were computed using the cut-off grade (COG) of 1.5% Ni and 20%
Fe for saprolite and 0.1% Ni and 20% Fe for limonite.

Mining Method
The project uses contour mining method in extracting limonite and saprolite ore.
This method is commonly practiced in rolling topography or terrains with shallow
deposits. Figure 2-1 presents a simplified flowchart of MMDCs mining method
from overburden stripping to ore shipment. Progressive rehabilitation is done after
ore extraction and declaration that the area is mined out.

Production
MMDC has started its mining operations on the 120 hectares covered by the
initial ECC permit from the last quarter of 2010. By the third quarter of 2011,
MMDC was able to start shipping out limonite and saprolite ore to its buyers.
From March to December, 2015, MMDC has made 51 shipments of limonite with
total volume of 2,550,000 wmt and 10 shipments of saprolite with total volume
of 500,000 wmt.

Mine Life
Given the remaining resource of about 31.1 Million WMT, as validated by MGB,
and annual production of 3 Million WMT, the minimum estimated life of mine for
the whole tenement area is eleven (11) years. The company will rehabilitate mineout areas progressively such that an area that has been mined out for the year will
be reshaped/backfilled and re-vegetated the next year.

Waste material
About 167,280.12 WMT of waste material with average 0.60% Ni and 20.41% Fe
was estimated during the resource computation. This figure will expectantly
decrease due to favorable market price and adjustment on the nickel and iron cutoff grade.
Waste materials, mainly overburden/topsoil, will be excavated and stockpiled
properly in designated waste dumps to be used in progressive rehabilitation of
mined out areas.
Stockpiled waste materials will be backfilled into mined out areas and compacted
to achieve stability of soil. Reshaping to an acceptable slope will be conducted
afterwards to avoid excessive soil erosion and landslide. The area will then be
cultivated and planted with endemic tree species coming from established MMDC
nurseries located in Sitio Banban and Barangay Panikian proper.
Other stockpiled waste materials that are not in backfilling of mined out areas will
be reshaped until stability of slope is achieved to control excessive erosion, thence
will be planted with endemic tree species.

Potential for additional reserves


Additional in-fill core drilling is being conducted that will upgrade Inferred
Resources into Indicated and Measured Resources and, in effect, will produce
additional Ore Reserves for the company. This will possibly extend the mine life
of MMDC.

Access/transportation
1.8.1

Road Access
The tenement area is located approximately 3 kilometers west of the
Municipality of Cantilan along the Surigao City-Tandag City National
Highway and is accessible by any land vehicle through newly renovated
logging roads westward from Barangay Panikian, Municipality of
Carrascal.
Travel time form Surigao City to the Municipality of Cantilan takes three
(3) hours. From the center of Cantilan to MMDC Mine Site Office in
SitioBanban, Barangay Panikian takes another half hour or 30 minutes.

1.8.2

Air access
Surigao City and Butuan City can be reached from Manila or Cebu City
most conveniently by daily flights offered by all major airlines in the
country.

1.9

Shipping
The ore is loaded in barges/LCT at MMDCs causeway located in Bon-ot,
Municipality of Carrascal. This will be unloaded into ship that delivers the ore to
the buyer abroad.

1. Corporate Planning and Performance Appraisal System


Are first question is Kailangan pa ba talaga na yung company na mag set talaga ng
objectives? And why?
Yes, kailangan talaga mag set ng objectives it is because para may goal yung
kompanya. Ma-attain yung mga empleyado iisa lang yung motivation nila or
goal in order to come up with one product Kapag may goal, so na attain na
natin [at] ng mga empleyado naka-focus lahat doon , walang, walang paligoy
ligoy. So ayon makaka-come-up sila ng isang resulta with unity.
Aside from being effective yung corporate objectives mas nagiging nakakatulong
maging efficient yung mga trabaho ninyo and yung mga workers.
Yes, yes exactly, Oo.
Another Question Sir, sa performance appraisal sir, anong klaseng performance
appraisal yung ginagamit sa inyong company.
Ahh kumukuha lang kami ng appraisal [form] sa admin [office.] Which covers
yung performance ng empleyado, yung kasali na dun yung sa actual at tsaka
attendances, behaviour yun. [Nakasama] na dun yung sa appraisal. Kung may
nagbago ba sa kanya at kung may development din.
Sir hindi ko lang sure kung ano ahh kung masyadong private tong itatanong ko
pero yung sa behaviour ng mga empleyado sino kadalasan yun nagbibigay ng rating
or grade with it comes to appraisal.
You mean kung anong range ng binibigay ko? 5 point, 4 point mga ganyan?

Ahhh so, so kayo po sir isa rin kayo sa nagbibigay ng performance appraisal sa mga
empleyado ninyo?
Actually, ako yung nagbibigay ng grado, binibigay lang kasi yun ng may
immediate superior ako ehh kaso mas hawak ko yung tao so ako na yung
nagbibigay na ng puntos para sa empleyado.
So far sir wala naman kayong problema sa pag nagbibigay kayo ng feedback sa
kanila, sa performance appraisal nila. Wala naman kayong nagiging problema pagdating na sa result na dumadating sa kanila.
Wala na dahil wala na silang magagawa. Kung ano yung nakikita ko, kung ano
yung na-observed ko. Yun na jinajudge ko na sila according sa performance
nila.
So as we continue, Sir, ask ko lang po sa inyo, sa company niyo alin yung mas
priority for your workers, natanong kop o yung kanina sa performance appraisal,
ano yung mas binibigyan niyo ng mas higher importance, yung skills o yung
attitudeng workers?
Pinapaniwalaan ko kasi yung behaviour over work, so hindi nila kasi ahh maattain yung dapat na gusto or target ng isang araw kung walang magandang
behaviour, so yun dapat. Una yung behaviour bago yung development or work
performance ng isang empleyado.
Sa mga empleyado niyo sir ano yung mga notable na mga attitude nila na
nagugustuhan ninyo?
Ano, Nagtatago. Alam naman natin yung area ng minahan. So, ang nagyayari is
yung isang empleyado. Hahanap siya ng paraan magpahinga or matulog kaya
ang ginagawa naming is yun nga part siya ng behaviour dapat [hindi] matuto
yung ganung ugali. Naghahanap kami ng paraan na focus lang siya sa work,
binibigyan naman siya ng oras para kumain, magpahinga pero yun nga sa loob
ng oras na pagtratrabaho dapat nakatuon yung oras sa pagtratrabaho wala ng
[timepers], wala ng pahinga na malaki.

2. Organization Education, Training, and Development


Ehmm Hello [Sir], yung tanong ko ay tungkol sa Training and Development ng mga
worker. So, first question sir. Ano po yung mga training and development na meron
sa MMDC?

Pagpasok ko sa MMDC, iba-iba yung mga ugali ng mga tao. Kaya yung
training na ginawa ko is kung ano yung natutunan ko na tamang gawin sa
pagtratarbaho is shinihsare ko sa kanila. Kapag.. dapat natulad ngkasi alam
naman natin na yung sa area ng MMDC is may dalang mga sharp objects kaya
di mo naman mai-imposed na wag dalhin kasi nga sa katunayan IP sila
kailangan nila yun para sa pambukid na trabaho kaya sinasabi nalang naming if
pwede wag dalhin. Para naman ahhh for safety proposes at tska shini-share din
na tin yung technical terms natin part na rin yun ng training araw-araw na yung
tamang term sinasabi natin para naman matutunan sila. [Chuppy tone] rin kasi,
tulad ng paggamit ng ano, backhoe. Tamang paggamit ng ahhh bench forming,
paggawa ng daan dahil nga technical tayo, Im sure kayo din magiging mining
engineer so bibigyan natin sila na kaukulang, proper management and proper
way of system sa pagmimina.
Sir sa palagay niyo po, ehhm nung nagtratraining, during training ano po yung
benefit/s or incentives na nakukuha nung worker/s sa ginagawa niyong training?...
sa palagay niyo sir?
Sa tingin ko yung benefits na makukuha ng worker kung katu ay. Siguro sa
Company nalang. Dahil, kung naatain naming at mabuti yung behaviour ng isang
tao, maganda din yung training nila kalakip doon na ma-attain natin yun
production natin sa department. Na-attain yung production at the same time. Pag
na-attain yung production may incentive agad, maaring may production bonus at
yung pinakanagugustuhan ng empleyado. Kapag may magandang nangyayari sa
mina so posibleng may production bonus may 13 th month pay, 14th month pay,
yun.
Sir dun sakayo sir sa mismong loob sa mga bisor, diba may team building kayo?
Ano po sa palagay niyo yung naitutulong nun? Or bakit siya importante? Yung
team building sa inyo?
Once lang ako nakaranas ng team building sa MMDC. Ang magandang
impluwensya ng team building sa akin ay nakakasalimuha ko yung mga tao na
di ko kakilala sa ibang departamento. May magandang rapport, may
magandang camaraderie sa lahat ng department at the same time nakikilala
silang mabuti. Katulad ng ibang transaction out of the production department. So
maganda, katulad nalang ng compensational benefits, kailangan natin malaman
yung mga sweldo natin. Madali natin silang malapitan, kung ano yung probloema
ng tao, kung ano yung problema natin at sa HR din kung may gusto tayong i-abot
masmadali kasi kilala na natin sila. At nabibigay din ng team building yung
tiwala sa kapwa mo empleyado.

Sir last question napo, anong klase ng training pa, Diba bilang bisor, ano pang
klaseng training pa yung maibigay o maishare sa mga workers niyo.
Minsan kasi wala tayong panahon para sa [training]. Una talaga bigyan talaga
ng isang araw na training kasi nga focus kami sa production. And ginagawa
nalang kapag panahon ng [tag-ulan] may oras talag tayo para gamitin yun,
siguro mag bugay ng tayo ng safety precaution, safety tips ano pa yung
makakabuti pa, part pa rin siya ng training at [open forum seminar] - Kahit
papaano nabibigyan natin ng puna yung isang departamento kung may
pagkukulang ba yung departamento na-oopen din dun. So its all about the
department and the employees, employer to employee para may magandang unity
yung isang kompanya.

3. Management Information System


Sir, so magpunta naman tayo sa topic na Management Information System. So sir
ano po yung management information system na ginagamit sa company or
softwares na ginagamit ng MMDC?
Ahh sa production department dahil nga karamihan sa ginagamawa namin ay
papel lang at tska papel lang tungkol sa report, ang ginagamit naming ay excel.
Sa engineering naman yung AutoCad lang. Hindi pa kami updated tulad ng
Surpac kasi nga wala pang magandang tao na magtuturo sa amin para i-share
yung knowledge niya sa Surpac.
Sir regarding sa kakulangan sa mga software ano po yung sa palagay niyong parang
suggestion sa company na parang kunwari po anong software yung pwedeng
nilang magamit, para mas maimprove yung production.
Yung sinabi ko kanina, Surpac sana may training or ilang araw, mga 5 days
lang na training for that kind of ahhh software. Kasi nga nakakatulong yung
mapadali yung trabaho yung surpac kasi mas madali na yun kumpara sa
AutoCad.
Another question sir is paano niyo po hinahandle yung mismanagement ng
information sa company specially kayo as bisor nan a nagiging middle man para
dun sa mga worker, sa mga employees.
Ang ginagawa ko dahil nga iba iba yung mga tao dun dapat iba-iba din yung
approach mo. Dapat kikilalanin mom un yung tao bago mo siya I-approach.
Kung pwedeng ilambing mo siya, gawin mo siyalambingin siya kunwarin or
hindi kaya eh hanapin mo yung kiliti ng isang empleyado. Dun kasi, tulad nalang
kung babarkadahin mo siya kung titingnan [or] ilo-look-up mo siya bilang tatay

mas mabuti yun. Mas maganda yung rapport ng communication niyo at tsaka
mas ma-established niyo yung magandang paguusap Mas maganda din kung
magiging maganda yung usapan at tsaka mag sisimula yung araw niyo yung
ginagawa naming is may toolbox meeting talaga yung departamento yung grupo
para naman ma share natin bago magsimula yung trabaho kung ano ba yng
maari nating gawin para mapadali din yung trabaho malalaman nila sa simula
pa lang na ahh ito na gagawin ko, ito na ang kailangan kong gawin hindi na
kailangan mag-utos ng bisor.
Sir for may last question for this topic. We all know na napakahalaga ng effective
communication lalo na sa mga worker. Ehmm ahh tanong ko lang po paano niyo po
na-ma-maintain yung effective communication sa mga sa mismong tao niyo.
Talagang importante yung effective communication at ma-maintain ko ito bilang
isang supervisor na down to earth dapat hindi mo talagang iniisip na magaling
ka na, na mahusay ka na, dapat nalalamang ako sa kanila. Dapat i-lelevel mo
yung sarili mo na kung if I were in their shoes ano kayang mararamdaman ko. So
iniisip ko rin yung damdamin ng empleyado kung ganito yung approach ko, kung
pwede ba akong magalit. Pa-minsasn naman minsan nagagalit ako however
tinatiming ko yung galit ko na hindi makakasakit ng emplyeyado kasi nga at the
end of the day, at the end of the year kayo yung magkakasama-sama so mas
mabuti na I-establish yung magang communication, i-establish din yung effective
communication ninyo para walang gulo dahil nga isang departamento kayo. May
isang dapat magandang communication sa bawat isa.
May follow up question lang po ako sir. Yung company niyo po ba nagcocommunicate through email, through facebook or through phone parang ganun po
regular ba silang nakakapagcommunicate dun or communication lang na personal.
May verbal tsaka e-mail. Yung verbal during yun ng Monday kapag after the
flag ceremony naguusap-usap yung departamento kung ano yung bagong
panukala, bagong mga patakaran, bagong impormasyon na maaring ibahagi sa
mga tao, so isa yun. Pangalawa, yung e-mail nagcocomunicate kami through
gmail. Nag-uusap-usap, nakakausap ko yung empleyado sa Makati kasi nga base
doon yung Marcventure napagusap din kahit malayo at isa ding paraan ng
communication ay sa telepono. Kung immediate talaga na gusto mong tawagan
yung departamento may telepono para tawagan.

4. Mine Productivity, Surface and Underground Incentive Bonus


System

We would like to ask sir ano po yung mga production plans na ine-implement ng
company niyo ngayon to reach your daily quota?
Merong Specific na tonnage na kailangan naming i-haul at tsaka hindi
naming ma-attain ito kasi karamihan sa mga [araw na ngayon ehh maulan.] So
ang ginagawa naming kinakausap naming yung contractor na may meeting,
may araw talagang nilalaan para magkaroon ng meeting between the in-house,
the admin and the contractor. Kasi nga kailangan natin kausapin yun contractor
dahil sakanila yung backhoe, meron din silang dump truck so hindi lang kami
yung nag-proproduce o nag nagmamake sure na ma-attain naming yung
production per day. So kailangan kasi naming ng tulong ng contractor so ayun
may meeting at tsaka meni make sure din naming na fully oriented yung mga
empleyado ng MMDC para naman pagnamunta na o nasalang na sa area is alam
na nila yung gagawin nila. So yun may plano talaga kaming i-inform yung mga
tao yung mga gagawin sa araw na yun. At tsaka yung daily quota na kailangan
naming para maabot ito. Ang ginagawa naming to make sure na maabot ito
kailangan naming ng mahabang oras, we have 3 15 mins to 30 mins lang yung
kain ng empleyado para naman may mahabang oras para sa hauling.
[Binibigyan din sila ng incentives] Namomotivate din sila kasi nga
May ine-impliment pong bonus system sir diyan sa company ninyo?
With regard sa bonus system or incentive since per time kami 15 minutes to 30
minutes lang yung break ng isang empleyado so namomotive sila at tsaka
yung sinabi ko rin kanina part yun ng [work nila] after 6 months [may midyear
bonus] kahit ma demorahe man o hindi as long as wala kami kulang sa
production nagkakaroon naman ng production bonus. Meron din quarterly bonus
yun yung bonus nila, yung incentive nila. Na-momotivate silang lahat ditto
nabinibigayan sila. Actually meron din binibigay ng bigas every three months
pero normal naman yun. Kahit na ma demorahe and barko at hindi maabot yung
quota may binibigay ng bigas.
Ahh sir pahabol nalang sir, sa inyo sir given na sa current na iniimplement nilang
incentive bonus system may sa inyong opinion meron pang pwede I improve sa
system na improve niyo at kung kayo ay pagbibigyan paano niyo implement sa
company niyo?
Mas mabuti kasi na instead, at mas mamomotivate pa sila ng husto aside from
sa mga incentive na natatanggap nila, dapat may recreation yung companya, yun
yung wala ditto sa kompanya naming. Ahh walang nagiging recreation yung
kumpanya tutok lahat sa trabaho. Mas mabuti kasi na may panahon talaga para
sa liwaliw o pagliliwaliw. Pangalawa, sana nagging monthly nalang yung bigas

kasi naming tao na isang sako lang yung kinakain sa 3 months eh alam naman
natin na may pamilya sila. At tska yung overtime pay din sana. Ang problema ksi
ditto pag hindi naabot yung o hindi na achieve naming yung dapat na quota
ang nangyayri hindi binibigayan yung bonus na dapat nakukuha.

5. Maintenance Management
Our first question is ano po yung maintenance management na ginagawa niyo sa
haulroads, sa mga excavating and haul roads po, para po mas maimprove yung sa
buong operation?
Dumako muna tayo sa equipment, ginagawa naming meron kaming precheck-up report, including na dun yung anong status ng equipment kung may sir
ba, may depekto ba, kung in good condition ba siya, so nandun yun lahat.
Chinicheck nalang ng operator o driver kung anong nakikita niya at dapat may
time din na strat yung equipment in order na Makita talaga kung ano yung mga
depekto ng equipment before ito ipatakbo. Kasi nga may possibilidad na,
pagpatakbo nila hindi nila na check up maaring madidisgrasiya sila on the way.
Yung yung paraan para ma maintain yung isang equipment. Para sa haul road,
ang ginagawa before the start of the shift, ang shift naming ay 7 am to 7 pm at
tsaka 7 pm to 7 am, so 1 hour before palang nagsisimula na yung pag grade ng
road grader tapos dinidikitan na yung ng road compactor para naman tuloytuloy yung road maintenance natin. Before pa simula ng production maganda na
yung daan so wala na tayong I pro-problema para tuloy tuloy yung production
natin. At sa mga loading point naman, mini-make sure natin kung maganda yung
panahon dapat nakaready na yung loading point para din sabi nga naming
dapat hindi lang yung daan yung maganda yung loading point din. Para tuloy
tuloy lang yung takbo ng equipment. Mini-make sure din naming na lahat ng
daan naka two way road, yun nga para tuloy tuloy na siya, na-grade na, nacompact na at the same time dapat din maganda yung daan na hindi walang
may control sa dust. Isa din ito kasi sa environmental concern. Posible kasi na
hindi na control yung dust hindi lang environmental impact yung mangyari may
zero visibility din, maaring hindi makikita [yung daan] yung drive, unsafe
condition siya para sa mga empleyado tulad ng driver at operator.
Sa tingin niyo po, bakit po mahalag ang maintenance management at ano ang
epekto niya pag hindi siya nagawa?
Its very essential or very important tong maintenance management dahil nga
ang epekto nito kapag hindi ginawa is magiging unsafe ang condition ng
empleyado. Sinabi ko nga kanina, kapag hindi na check-up or na thorough check
up yung equipment maaring madisgrasya yung empleyado so dapat kino-control

natin yan. Dahil nga dadagyan sa non-working man hours ng company. Very
negative impact para sa isang companya na may mamatay or may accidente ang
kompanya.

Industrial Relation and Corporate Social Responsibility, Sir gaano po kahalaga ang
CSR sa company at ano yung benefits na nakukuha ng company sa paggawa nila ng
CSR?
Itoy very important, part ito na required ng MGB o DENR nakailangan may
social na interaction yung companya near neighbourhood. Marami kasing mga
barangay na napapaloob sa boundary ng company. Kaya dapat bigyan natin sila
na tulong, o kaakip na tulong dahil nga, tulad nalang sa isang area na ang
naninirahan talaga dito ay ang mga native people or IPs, indigenous people,
kalat-kalat sila dito na namamahay. So ang nagyayari is since kailangan natin
mag open ng isang area ililipat sila sa isang area na hindi masasali sa mina. So
part of that, ang ginawa ng kompanya is binigyan nila ng housing at tska
livelihood. Pinigay ito para gumanda yung pamamahay nila hindi yung
nakasanayan nilang baro-baro at tsaka binigyan din sila na kaukulang trabaho.
Pinasok yung na empleyado sa kompanya para naman bigayan ng angkop na
trabaho. Since nakikita nila na balakid yung kompanya dahil lumipat sila pero
despite that binibigyan sila ng tulong para naman mag agree sila na payagan
yung kompanya [magmina.] Isa yun sa rason kung bakit importante yung
Corporate Social Responsibility.
Ano po yung common na CSR projects po na binibigay ng Kompanya?
Ang very common ay yung pagtulong ng empleyado na binibigyan sila ng
scholarship. Ito yung very common na project.
Sir, lets discuss naman po the SDMP, regarding naman po sa SDMP project naman
po ng MMDC ano naman yung binibigay ng MMDC sa mga host and neighboring
Community, yung mga projects na nagging notable and yung recent lang po.
Yung nabasa ko sa update nung companya, [livelihood] kasi yung pamumuhay
nila yung pinagkukunan nila ng main source ng kanilang kinabubuhay ay rice
field kaya binigyan sila instead na using the typical kalabaw binigyan sila ng
machine para mapadali yung buhay nila. So isa yung magandang halimbawa
para doon sa neighboring community, para sa SDMP ng companya.
Paano po naidentify ng kompanya yng projects na dapat nilang binibigay sa kanila?

Kung ano yung kakulangan ng isang barangay, ng isang community, yung


sinabi ko nga kanina kakulangan silang mapabilis yung trabaho nila at yung
tirahan nila. Kaya binigyan ng kompanya ng mga machine para naman mapadali
yung pamumuhay nila. Binigyan din yung mga ating mga komunidad na sariling
bahay na hindi baro-baro, yung concrete talaga. Para naman mas mapaayos
yung pamumuhay nila at the same time binigyan din sila ng magandang paaraan,
churches, at establisyimento.
Sir, for our last question po. In your own perspective sir How different is the CSR as
supposed to your SDMP, gaano po siya ka-different sa perspective ninyo?
Para sa akin hindi nagkakalayo yung CSR sa SDMP kasi nga isa lang yung goal
nila bigyan ng ng isang programa or paraan yung ikabubuti ng isang komunidad.
Hindi siya naka-oppose kundi nagtutulungan yung CSR at SDMP para sa
ikakaayos ng isang komunidad.

7. Ore to Waste Management


For Ore and waste management po, Sir, ano pong technique yung ginagait niyo to
avoid dilution sa ore? And paki-elaborate.
Yung technique na ginagamit ng companya sa ngayon para avoid yung dilution
ng ore is yung una, sa kasalukuyan, nag didirect barge. Karamihan san aha-haul
na ore ang di-direct barge para ma ensure na hindi ma dilute yung ore.
Pangalawa, may ginawang memorandum yung companya na hindi dapat maghahaul ang isang dump truck kung walang panakip yung isang dump truck. Dapat
meorn siya cover sa dump box at laminated lang na plastic para to ensure na if
ever umulan or if ever na mapapasukan ng isang alikabok yung isang ore nasa
dump box hindi siya masyadong ma-didilute, just to lessen the dilution of isang
ore sa dump box ng dump truck. Pangatlo dito ay yung mga napupunta sa
stockyard na ore , ginagawa ng kompanya tinatakpan ito if ever umulan, at if ever
na hindi tinatanggal naman ito para naman yun nga to ensure na para naman
hindi malaki yung moisture content ng ore. Dahil isang rason din yung moisture
content para ma-dilute yung ore.
As an experience engineer in Operations, Ano po yung mashashare niyo regarding
sa disition making in ore and waste disposal management.
As an experience, engineer ang masha-share ko lang para sa inyo na, soon to be
mining engineer. Dapat kumuha kayo ng plano from engineering department,
kung sino man yung gumagawa ng plano, namakikita niyo talaga yung detailed
yung saan yung waste ditto saan yung ore. Im sure makakakita kayo doon na
parang box at ito lang yung kahon na ito ang pwedeng makain, ito lang yung

hindi makain. Yun, ma-manage niyo ng maayos kung saan dapat yung kainin.
Dapat hindi nako-comnpromise yung kagandahan ng mina, yung kagandahan ng
pagbench, which is 5x5x3 [meters]. Dapat hindi nako-compromised kasi nga isa
yun para maayos yung pagmina natin at tska dapat physically nalalaman niyo rin
yung ore, ano din yung waste. Kasi nga, dahil hindi 100% yung level of
confidence ng isang ore sa isang sample. Face sampling man ba ang
ginagamit, or exploration drilling na pinalabas, hindi talaga 100% na tama yung
nakuhang resulta. So Physically dapat alam niyo rin yung distinguish yung ore sa
waste. At tsaka ano yung dapat na dahil nga sa companya meron specific na
grade so dapat din alam rin kung ano yung pag-kwenta ng grado para naman
maayos naman yung mixing ratio. Kasali na dun, para ma-manage niyo na talaga
ng maayos yung waste at tsaka yung ore.

8. Quantitative Management Techniques


Sir lets procede to our last set of question the topic is about, Quantitative
Management. So our first question. Ang MMDC po ba ay nag aaply ng quantitative
management techniques sa operation?
Yes.
Sir, paano po siya nagiging useful sa minahan in what way po?
Nagiging useful siya, itong yung quantitative management technique ng
operation lalong lalo na ditto sa production. Nalalaman natin ditto yung gaano
na tayo kagaling yung performance natin, meron na tayong statistics, ang
statistics doon yung production natin. So kung if ever na kung makikita na tin by
digit na ganito pala yung nakita naming production that day so mas naiingganyo
yung isang empleyado na pursiguduhin pa yun trabaho niya dahil, [for example]
kulang yung production, so dapat magdouble time pa sila the next day, for the
next shift para for that day or sa susunod na isang araw makakatulong o
matatakpan yung kakulangan ng isang araw. By that quantitative approach na
management yun na nalalaman natin y\kung saan tayo nagkulang, saan tayo
pwede mag improve, at tsaka yung computer simulation na sinasabi dito,
nakakatulong din siya sapagkat, malalaman mo ditto kung ano pa yung maaari
nating I detailed na pan dagdag sa ating mga trabahuin na siya makaka-ayos din.
Para malaman din natin [ng] ver detailed kung ano ba yung problem
encountered na tin. Ano ba ang maari nating solution ditto. So dapat sa isang
departamento alam natin kung saan tayo nagkulang at kung paano natin ito
mareresulba. Ito yung nakakabuti sa quantitative management technique.

Sir for our last question po, how does the quantitative management works in your
company and nagiging efficient ba o effective yung operation niyo using yung
quantitative management?
It realy works smooth dito sa kompanya, dahil nga nakikita namin dito sa isang
board my digit yung na-attain naming na production by that nagiging effective
yung isang departamento na mag-pursigido. Hindi lang dun, [ito rin] ay
nakakatulong sa individual kung paano pa siya maging mapapabuti, at
makakatulong pa sa kompanya. Dahil nga nag e-earn siya ng sweldo so
kailangan din na bigyan niya rin ng kaukulang magandang trabaho yung
kompanya. So by that Statistics, at impormaysaong makikita natin, by
quantitative mas napapabuti yung departamento as well as yung company.
